Compare this to an average hotel nightly cost of $393.90.

As you can see, it’s much more cost-effective to travel in an RV. This is especially true if you’re traveling with family. In fact, 30% of people looking to travel with Outdoorsy during the 4th of July holiday are traveling with children. People are also wanting to travel with their furry companions. 1. Flagstaff, Arizona

The capital of Oregon, Salem is known for its beautiful parks and gorgeous vegetation. Visit the Enchanted Forest, a must-see fun park that combines nature with the fun of a theme park. 6. Omaha, Nebraska

One of the most affordable regions for 4th of July trips is the midwest and Omaha is a great destination to visit. No, it doesn’t just have cornfields. The city has the Old Market district, an area popular for its cobblestone sidewalks, boutique shops, independent coffee shops, and delicious restaurants. There are also museums and the Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium. Just outside of town is Chalco Hills Recreation Area, with seven miles of trails for walking, running, and biking, as well as several covered picnic areas.

Knoxville and the eastern region of Tennessee are lovely. During a 4th of July trip to the area, you can visit Great Smoky Mountains National Park. You can hike or bike on some of the park’s many trails. You can also see wildlife such as elk, black bears, and white-tailed deer. In town, there’s no shortage of barbeque restaurants, and you should definitely take a tour at Knox Whiskey Works.

The city of Oshkosh is named for Chief Oshkosh of the Menominee Tribe. It’s located between two large lakes, Lake Butte des Morts and Lake Winnebago, which makes it known for its picturesque waterfront areas. Just outside of town is High Cliff State Park, where you can go hiking, biking, horseback riding, boating, and swimming.

Outside of town, visitors can see remnants of the historic Oregon Trail and hundreds of fossils at Hagerman Fossil Beds National Monument.
