When you choose a motorhome rental in Ault, some of the closest RV parks can be found in the nearby city of Greeley. Ault is known for American staples like pizza and homestyle cooking, as well as café fare and Mexican cuisine. A short trip to nearby Eaton or Greely expands options to include steakhouse, seafood, Asian, and Italian restaurants. If you’re into trains and have a camper rental in Ault, you’ll definitely want to check out the Colorado Model Railroad Museum in Greeley. Their display has some of the most intricate re-creations of the surrounding landscapes and there are usually a few regulars around to discuss the models with. However, if you love truly offbeat museums you’ll need to see the Lee Maxwell Washing Machine Museum. Yes, it’s actually a museum full of washers, dryers, and models of some of the oldest versions of the machines. If you’ve ever wanted to learn more about the appliances that clean your clothes, this is the place to do it. Not too far south of Ault is Fort Vasquez, a brick and adobe fur-trading fortification from the early 19th century. It was used by a variety of French and English-speaking trappers to trade with Native American tribes like the Arapaho and Cheyenne. The fort is very accessible, located literally in the middle of Highway 85 -- the opposing lanes split to go around the building. There’s no reason not to see this historic site when passing through!
