Memories made on trips with Melvin Valdez's RVs

The truck is very easy to drive and isn't too fuel-hungry, so it's good for people who aren't used to driving a pick-up! However, it's getting a bit old, and could do with a refresh.
The camping equipment is very basic, and a few small items such as a can opener could be added. The tent had trouble withstanding the moderate wind, but the rest of the camping equipment is sufficient for Kauai.

Loved this van! Had everything we needed and the bed was super comfortable, my bf who’s 6’1 even fit which is hard in camper vans. Would definitely recommend for anyone who wants to experience van life on Kauai.

Melvin was very easy to deal with and very accommodating to our needs in terms of picking up the van on Christmas Day. Van was great overall and is as it appears in the photos when booking. Well-equipped with a comfortable bed and lots of supplies to go along with the van life e.g. camp chairs, separate tent, cooking equipment, cooler box. While the van is an older model, it drove very well and we had no problems throughout our journey. We had a fantastic experience exploring all different parts of Kauai and loved our holiday experience in the van.

Overall good trip. We had some issues with communication as Melvin took ~24 hours to respond with respect to missing items. Specifically, headlamps, lantern, and sleeping pads, which led to a miserable two nights sleeping. If you are an avid camper, don’t expect the high quality gear you have at home. It’s Walmart camping pots and pans. Ozark trails sleeping pads. The 3 inch “memory foam” is not enough to keep your hips from hitting the hard camper tent floor. The Coleman stove worked well. Overall, if you’re looking for a reliable vehicle to get you around the island with baseline camping amenities, this is your vehicle. Knowing what I know now, I would have brought more of my own gear from home.

Awesome van. Gets good mileage too. Very cozy to sleep in, yet spacious, yet further more easy to maneuver. We stayed at camp Kumu a lot which was a great place for the van. You can open the windows in the evening to let in the cool ocean breeze and there were no mosquitos.

Our three nights camping on Kauai were great! Vehicle pick-up and drop-off was a breeze. The van was exactly as photographed and equipped as described. Overall a comfortable, low profile island camper cruiser fit for the two of us. Pro tip, if your hungry around pick-up or drop-off, Harley's Tropical Barbecue is on the same block and winners!
Beaches were epic. The sky epic. Mountains epic. Ocean epic. The island drives were gorgeous and mostly lush with vegetation. We kept the cooler filled with prepared local grinds and poke from the snack shops along the way. The stars, so many stars. Stars are visible camping in the trees. Stars on a beach, with zero light pollution, unobstructed by trees, under clear skies and the darkness of a new moon is, welllll you'll find out.
