About Brian's RV rentals
My wife Amanda and I are the owners / founders of a small women's surf & swimwear brand called SEEA. Since moving to Southern California in 2010, we've been surfing at San Onofre and exploring the Pacific coast, from Baja up to Big Sur. We got our first VW in 2014, the same year our daughter was born. Since then, restoring VW's has been my main passion and hobby. Westfalia campers are truly unique vehicles, and there's simply nothing I like better than cruising the coast with my family in a well-tuned vintage van. As a natural extension of our own surf & travel adventures, the decision to share that stoke with others is a joyous one - so we're excited to introduce SAN-O VAN as a fun, alternative platform for your surf centric coast explorations.

Perfect for a local camping trip with my daughter. The pop up sleeper bunk was great. Bus drove great for a ‘91 VW. Brian did a great walkthrough when we picked it up and the communication was great. Would recommend and will rent again.

We recently booked this beauty for a night at our favorite campsite, and to double as a nice prop for our engagement photos! The van was absolutely perfect - great condition, super clean, and one of the best nights of sleep we’ve had. We arranged a drop off delivery and Brian was super flexible with our times, very friendly and helpful with his instructions. We will 1000% be returning guests/customers.

We had a wonderful time camping in this van! It was perfect for a family of 3. Van was in great condition & the process was easy and smooth in pick up & drop off. We will book again!

We rented the van to go camping at Doheny State Beach and go surfing 🌊. Brian was great to rent from, really helpful and full of local knowledge. We also rented a surfboard for him as well. The van ran great with no problems. We will definitely rent from him again.

Our experience with the Vintage VW camper van exceeded our expectations. It had everything we needed, drove great and slept comfortably, we will definitely do this again for future surf trips! Brian was a most gracious host, he took extra time with us, making sure we felt comfortable with the van and even supplied us with a few necessities that would have been rough to travel with. We also enjoyed talking and getting to know him! Super nice guy and made the whole experience just that much better. Highly recommend one of Brian’s vans if you like a low key way to camp and tool around CA!

My friend and I shared this van for a week in November 2022 and what a trip it was! Brian took lots of care to explain how everything works and what it’d be like to drive - you can tell he’s passionate about these vans and that he wanted to share that excitement with us. Based on our needs, Brian took the two back seats out before we left so that we’d have more room. He also gave us great advice on traffic timelines and finding campsites since it was our first time doing that in California. The van was a lot of fun to drive, and everything works as expected. It’s in great condition! Would not hesitate for a second to take one of these vans again :)

My partner and I planned a Christmas staycation down at San Elijo in San Diego so we could be closer to family and get some waves over the Christmas break. We caught sunny weather and a little swell. The nights were chilly and a little damp, so it was great to have the cozy shelter of the Lost Winds van with its camper top and propane stovetop for heating water, etc. for our tea and coffee. I’m tall, and at 6’1” it can be challenging to find a car camping situation that allows me to stretch out. I slept up in the ‘crows nest’ and was happy as a clam with my mummy bag and had plenty of room. The van’s auxiliary battery provided plenty of juice for charging our appliances, and the Bluetooth speaker was great for hooking up playlists from Spotify when our friends came around the campsite. This little home on wheels got a lot of complements at the campsite. Brian the owner made the check in / out process super smooth and informative, and he took the time to walk us through the amenities and such. I was grinning ear to ear the entire drive. Can’t wait to take out another one of the Sano Van rigs. Stoked!!

The Van was in GREAT condition and drove like brand new. I had zero worries about taking the van anywhere. She held up great on my trip from San Clemente to San Diego and out to the mountains around Julian. There was plenty of room in the van for all of my stuff and it was a real head tuner on the mountain roads! Such a fun little few-day getaway and the perfect van to accompany us on our trip.

Brian is the best and most friendly guy ever, the van is gorgeous! Drives beautifully for an old girl, super smooth transmission and suspension. Such a comfy bed!
Outdoorsy, on the other hand, were extremely difficult to deal with (despite Brian and I both making extensive efforts to get some issues sorted).
So, overall 10/10 for Brian and the beautiful van, but 2/10 for Outdoorsy as a platform and app.

"Lynsey and her family were great! Punctual with pickup and drop off, they took great care of our vintage van and returned it clean and re-fueled, as requested. Happy they were able to make some fun memories down at San Onofre this Summer. Would gladly rent to Lynsey and her family again anytime!"
