About Karl's RV rentals

Greetings and Salutations! We are life-long Alaskans who like to use Outdoorsy when we travel out of state during the long winter. We have been car-tent camping for over 20 years before it even became popular (we have a 20 year old Maggiolina car tent on our personal Subaru that we enjoy our Alaskan summers in!) We decided to extend our joy of car-tent/Van camping to visitors in our great state. As life-long Alaskans, we know where to go and how to do it right. With that in mind, we've put together a really nice rig for your enjoyment--we have set it up with all the supplies that we would like to have provided if renting a rig ourselves! This will be our second year with Outdoorsy as a vendor, and we have worked diligently to get good reviews --be assured that we are dedicated to providing an awesome experience as well as learning how we may improve. We loved using the Subaru camper on our Alaska trip! It made us feel like locals! It was the perfect way to explore. We only slept in the tent a couple of nights, but were shocked with how warm and dry it kept us, even when it rained most of the night. Cynthia was so thorough and helpful, it felt like borrowing from a (very prepared) friend. We’d absolutely book again if we came back (and hopefully have the courage to camp more and get more use out of it!)

We had a wonderful time in Alaska with the rig! We had some wet weather and we’re able to stay dry with the set up. Would highly recommend, was definitely the way we wanted to experience Alaska as avid campers. Thanks for keeping great communication throughout the whole rental!

Renting this Subaru was a great decision when we flew into Anchorage. It had everything we needed and was very convenient. We camped a couple of nights in the rooftop tent and it was very comfortable. HIghly recommend looking into renting this if you're going to Alaska on a camping/road trip.

The rig was great. We were 2 persons and used it for 10 days and drove 1400 miles. Everything worked well and the rig was fully equipped with everything we needed. Good communication with Cynthia. Recommended.

My husband and I used Cynthia’s Subaru Forester (“The Rig”) for about 7 days. We picked it up in Anchorage, drove to Denali and camped for several days, and then took it down to Seward, with a couple stops (e.g. Talkeetna, Hope) along the way. Overall, we had a wonderful experience. Cynthia provided detailed and helpful information for how to set up and take down the tent, which is attached to the roof rack and remains in an elevated position during use. We spent several nights in the tent, many of which dipped below freezing and some of which rained, and were comfortable and dry. In addition to sleeping supplies, she provided all the other necessary supplies for camping and hiking (including cooking essentials, lamps and charging supplies, and bear and bug spray) and for making sure the car was running properly. Having everything we needed for a complete camping experience in addition to sleeping in the rig was a huge bonus and ideal for us since we were traveling from out of state and could not easily transport our own supplies by plane. Cynthia was responsive to any email or call we made and was very easy to work with. We would definitely recommend renting from her and will consider doing so the next time we are in Alaska!

Thelavan met our needs and exceeded our expectations. The car ran great, kitchen was clutch, and the tent held up well to a variety of weather conditions on our trip. Set up/take down is pretty quick.

Cynthia was a breeze to work with. Her communication was always quick and helpful and the rig came with absolutely everything we needed for our two week trip. She even went to far as to put baby wipes in the car because she knew we had a 3 month old with us. The cartop camper was a hit with my 4 year old as well and the car itself worked perfectly. I’d recommend this over a rental car 100% of the time.
