“Disappointed best sums up our first experience with Outdoorsy.”Our rental arrived after 6 pm on our first day, even though we were charged a full day. We asked several questions prior to booking to help us decide if this was right for us, holding tank capacities, heating, and general accommodations.Upon drop off, we were informed by the owner that the sleeping accommodations were less than comfortable. ‘I hope you weren’t expecting much” were his exact words. This was an understatement, as the main bed was like sleeping on plywood. We decided to purchase a $100 foam cushion in order to get a minimally comfortable nights sleep, plus added the bunk mattresses at the bottom. We rented this RV for 3 weeks during our remodel, so being told in the beginning not to expect a good nights’ sleep, did not start our experience off well. We specifically asked if this was going to be a reasonable and comfortable solution for our needs.Additionally, the refrigerator in the RV did not work, nor did it work the entire time. The owner did purchase a refrigerator that Sunday evening, which we kept in the garage during the rental. Having to leave the camper to access your refrigerator was less than ideal. The hot water did not work until Sunday evening as well. When the hot water was in use, the holding tank leaked across the floor. The knobs on the gas range kept falling off and was very difficult to get to work the majority of the time. We basically had 3 days the RV did not have the expected essentials, and a less than pleasant accommodations during the entire time rented. We also ran out of heat. The owner had told us he would swap out the tank midway, he did not. He had to instead come out at 8 pm on a Sunday. We were expected to conserve our propane. In the winter?! Again, this is one of those items we inquired upon before renting and were told it would not be a problem. The owner was as helpful as possible and did respond quickly to fix our issues, however, we were baffled that this camper had so many issues. “The owner stated they used to work.” Used to is not acceptable. If you are going to rent an accommodation out, it better be in sound working order.
