Hi there! My name is Beau Milliken. I live in San Diego and got to enjoy doing the van life in Deku and still enjoy trips in this beauty. I am a founder of an organization that plants trees with farmers in Uganda to slow down deforestation and improve livelihoods, so I enjoy giving part of the rental profits towards that cause. Everything was amazing from the time I first spoke with Beau until the end of our trip. The van was older but we loved all the characteristics that came with her age! I would definitely book again with Beau if I ever decided to go out in that area again. Perfect for 3 people, so accommodating, and excellent communication!

Beau was super helpful and kind so he gets 5stars. The design of the van is great, it drove fine, and was comfortable for 2 adults and a child. However, the van wasn’t quite as advertised. It’s an old vehicle and we were understanding of that. But the generator wouldn’t work so we couldn’t have heat when we weren’t plugged in which was a big selling point for us as we were traveling with a 6-year-old without hookups some nights. Additionally, the USB ports that were supposed to charge our phone from the solar battery didn’t work, so we had to charge off the car battery while driving. This was fine, but not ideal. When we arrived to our first campsite we found that the colander and can opener were broken, we replaced those. Overall we had a nice experience that wasn’t ruined or anything by these issues. We just felt that the van needed a little upkeep and/or modification of the listing.

Our trip with Deku was great! It has all the ammenities you'd want for vanlife plus some great extras like generator, microwave, mini shower w/ hot water heater, and fridge with freezer. The setup makes the van very livable for a weekend getaway or extended trip and great for boondocking. Plenty of freshwater capacity, battery power, toilet, etc. Our only issue was we had no A/C up front in the van when driving. Temps were tolerable in the mountains but it was rough when we hit the desert. Still, we've rented other vans before and Deku can't be beat for the price! And Beau was very friendly and answered all of our questions.

Deku served us well for our trip to Yosemite. Beau was very informative on the inner workings of the van, and quick to respond to questions.

Super fun weekend in this van! Even though it’s a little older everything works like a charm. Beau was so nice and helpful. Highly recommend!
