DO NOT RENT FROM JAIME. He is a liar and scam artist. We had an unfortunate situation where our personal vehicle broke down, causing us to return the RV approximately 36 hours late. We made several attempts to contact Jaime via phone and text to inform him of the delay and to offer to pay for the additional day, but he did not respond to our calls or messages. Despite not responding, he sent us texts at odd intervals, which made it clear he was selectively ignoring key communication from us (see conversation screen shots)Instead of working with us to resolve the situation, Jaime was dismissive and accusatory. He falsely claimed we had caused damage to the RV—specifically a broken fender—and attempted to withhold our entire $1,000 security deposit. We categorically deny any such damage occurred. We returned the RV in excellent condition, thoroughly cleaned and well maintained. Return photos support this, and we have attached them along with screenshots of our attempts to communicate.Jaime also failed to complete or provide the required check-in paperwork at the time of pickup. We reached out immediately to clarify what steps were needed to get the forms completed correctly, but once again, received no response (again see conversation screenshots)We believe this situation was mishandled and that Jaime acted in bad faith. We have escalated this matter to Outdoorsy in hopes of recovering our security deposit, minus any reasonable charges for the late return and additional day. While we’ve had only positive experiences with Outdoorsy in the past, we feel it’s important to share this experience to caution future renters. We strongly advise others to consider this carefully before renting from Jaime.
