About Michael Nixon

We did our first build (the school bus in our cover picture) during the pandemic and then spent the subsequent 3 months traveling to every National Park in the continental US. In addition to our day jobs we run a non-profit dedicated to helping young adults build relationships with each other and the outdoors which means we are out adventuring most weekends. At this point we have been to most places in the Western US and we LOVE sharing them with others. Reach out to us with your itenerary and we would love to point out our favorite stops along the way.

Marlo was amazing! First time doing van life and Marlo set the bar high. Michael was awesome always, great communication, at pick up he explained everything about Marlo in detail so we had a smooth experience.

We had a great time taking Marlo to Moab! Everything was in great shape and worked well. The ride was great. Do recommend fixing the drawer that constantly opens while driving, that got old quick. There isn’t AC but the fan above the bed was great at night however it did drain the battery so not sure why the solar didn’t charge all day, and enough power to keep the fan running but otherwise perfect! We rented the starlink to try that out too and highly recommend it if going way out of service like we did. Thanks for a great weekend!!

Had a great time renting Marlo. It was perfect for our trip. Communication with the owner was very easy and friendly. We found the bed to be very comfortable and amenities provided to be just right. The van was also very easy to drive and got better gas mileage than we expected so spending less than we expected on fuel was a pleasant surprise. One warning for future renters is that there is no generator and no AC in the back of the van. There is a battery that was sufficient to charge a phone, run water, power the cooler but if you actually need a generator you’re out of luck. The only AC in the van is what was in the dash, this wasn’t a problem for our trip but would’ve been uncomfortable if we had been out in warmer weather. Overall we had a great time renting Marlo and would rent the van again, as long as it wasn’t going to be too hot.

The van was Spic and Span. The owner helped me feel comfortable about how to run everything. The layout was great. I now how can life fever!

Marlo the van was an eye opening experience ! Everything about the van is fantastic and straight forward. You can tell that the owners put a lot of thought into the buildout of this van. The solar panels / battery setup worked very well and could charge up 2 e-bikes. Having the refrigerator/ freezer was a total game changer. The van drove surprisingly well, even in cross winds.
If you want to try out van life, before plopping down mega bucks on your own, this is the van for you !
