We rented this RV from August 29th until September 9th. We did a thorough cleaning of the RV as it wasn’t the cleanest when we picked it up and he was in a hurry and told me not to bother with taking pictures when we picked it up. (Big mistake on my part) We even removed stains from the front seats. There was also a very unpleasant surprise for me when I hooked up to the sewer on our first night and we hadn’t even used the toilet yet. Be aware that this RV does not have an inverter, so while you are driving, the refrigerator, outlets, etc. will not work. We tried to run the generator for a while as we drove to keep our food cold, but it wouldn’t stay running while driving for more than about 15 or 20 minutes. We ended up losing almost all of our food we took with us. There is a definite road noise as you drive on the expressway, so be ready for that. Conversations and listening to the radio can be a challenge. We ended up returning 3 days early as the hot water heater stopped working on us. He said that he would refund us for the 3 days we didn’t use. We never got refunded for those days, and he ended up keeping $150 of our security deposit due to damage to a couple of fans and a drawer that he claims we damaged. He also said that we had $40 of unpaid tolls. The only evidence he ever submitted for these claims was a photo of the $40 tolls. They were incurred the end of July, over a month before we even rented it! The other damage, we never saw evidence of and he didn’t submit those claims until about 4 days after we returned the RV and he had taken it on a trip himself. Not a good experience at all! Outdoorsy did reimburse us some money, as they agreed with our request for reimbursement, but if the owner doesn’t agree, they don’t make them pay and they allow them to keep money from your security deposit without proof, or with proof in your favor!
