Memories made on trips with Molly Catherine Riley's RVs

According to the vehicle plate the Casita Spirit Deluxe was built 9/97 so it's not really a '98 - small technical point. Both of us being somewhat with limited mobility, things were a little tight inside. But everything was within arm's reach so that was handy. Several nights were difficult sleeping because of the 3 inch thin mattress. Not comfortable (and somewhat painful) for old bodies. Having campsite electrical hookup was necessary since we needed the AC a couple of nights. Otherwise the rooftop exhaust fan with open screened windows worked well.
We did not use the Casita's propane stove or sink since we had brought our own 48+yr old Coleman Stove converted to propane. This is our 1st time with Outdoorsy and it was rough going. The 1st camper (inTech Sol Horizon) we reserved, the owner sold it before our trip and we had to scramble to find the Casita which was far from us. If we had known the 1st person was selling their RV we would not continued planning. I don't think Outdoorsy was that much help to us trying to resolve the issue but they supposedly gave us 10% off the Casita rental. We haven't seen the final accounting so we're not sure if we really got any credit or not.
Trying to communicate with the Casita owner was a challenge. It's Outdoorsy's policy not to allow direct communication until a certain point in the contracting timeline. They filter out contact information then pass the message to the owner. It's a cumbersome process which is frustrating since some needed information is time dependant. We kept trying to get an accurate list of items included with the Casita. The feedback was limited to just 15 or so items. So, from our end we took our full camp kitchen, potable hose, fire ext., water filters and many other items which maxed out our 4Runner’s Cargo area. We took more than necessary. Once at the campsite we inventoried what the Casita came with (over 138 classification items – if the owners would like an accurate inventory by specific storage location all they need to do is contact me and we’ll forward it along to help them with future renters. It would save a lot of time and questions).
The Casita’s refrigerator took a full day/night to cool and the freezer had difficulty making ice…but it did by the 4th day! So we rejoiced at that. Any next rental we get will have the refrigerator at chest high. Bending down trying to get stuff was a hassle and there was no light. One of the small thermometers was broken and stuck at 54 deg F. The microwave came in real handy to reheat leftovers instead of having PBJ's again.
What would have been most helpful for departure would have been a swivel wheel (dual perhaps) for the trailer jack. As mentioned earlier, being in our mid 70’s with limited mobility trying to get the 4Runner’s hitch ball exactly under the RV’s coupler was very difficult with the Casita’s black tank full. We needed, but couldn’t make the micro adjustments necessary for alignment & contact. Also the coupler’s keeper had to be pried back a bit in order to capture the ball. One last point, the Casita’s sewer hoses, gloves, hose ramp, etc. are kept in an oversize cumbersome black tote. We recommend all the sanitary gear could be kept in a smaller, easier to handle tote. Fresh or potable water hoses, valves, filters, etc. need to be kept in a separate tote to avoid contamination. But that's "RVing 101."

Molly has a great Casita and is great to work with. We took the Casita to the Shenandoah River State Park and had a great time with no issues. This was a true hassle free rental and would recommend you try her Casita.

Super helpful family and easy to work with. I had a lot going on and was stressing drop off times, but they were extremely helpful and worked with me on that! We had so much fun and it was so convenient carting this bad boy behind our truck!
