About Jai Lewis
Memories made on trips with Jai Lewis's RVs
Although it’s an older model, Jai has a comfortable mattress and everything in the camper worked.
It was easy to pull with our 4Runner, and very easy to set up!
We rent it again.

Jai and his wife were both pleasant and helpful.
The camper was clean and just as advertised.
We pulled it to our yard and set it up very easily.
Our son and wife enjoyed it as a backyard adventure.
We returned the camper yesterday where we met Jai's friend David. David backed the camper to its parking place - no issues.
Our overall experience was great.

Jai was awesome to work with. gave me a complete rundown on the camper, which made it a completely easy and worry free experience
leveling and stabilizing was done with the built in jacks and provided jack stands.
the camper stood solid and level, even with a big guy like me walking around in it
totally recommend renting from Jai
I towed the camper with my 08 Mercedes C300 which has a 2000lb towing capacity.
towing it was easy but there were times I knew it was back there, but most of the time I did not
I could see past it to make lane changes easy
overall a very top-notch experience

I also want to go over issues with the camper. The camper needed to be completely scrubbed and cleaned. The camper smelled of smoke. and I needed to take out all the cushions and clean them so the smell would go away. There was also dog hair everywhere. Not only on the mattress but all down behind and in the storage boxes below as well as under the bed, in the window sills, under the dinette. Also the screen where the ribbing came out wasn't the only issue. There were punctures in that screen and the one above the sink. So I need to replace them. The cabinet with the broken clip wasn't the only issue to the door. The door is broken at the hinge and needs to be replaced. The edging around the kitchen counter was off on the dinette side and the countertop itself was pulled loose from the wall. I have asked Outdoorsy to hold your security deposit. Unfortunately, I've never had to do this before, but I'll have to assess costs for the repairs. I spent 2.5 hrs today alone just cleaning and making the camper ready for the next rental. If you have anything you'd like to discuss, please reach out, otherwise, I'll submit the fees by end of weekend.
JaiI answered: I don't know where smell of smoke came from. Neither one of us or the dog smoke. Nobody but us even entered the camper other than to take a peak inside. It is too small with the dinette being a second bed for anything else but sleep. We opened the bed at a rest stop on our way up to MD for one night sleep and then it stayed open the whole trip, it was open at the time of our drop off.
Besides that nobody else came into the camper from our arrival 12/8/21 in Baltimore until our departure 12/12/21 to come home. The household of the people we were visiting, not one person smokes.
There was a "CAMPIRE" in the yard where we parked the camper and we did have an outside "CAMPFIRE" and also a BBQ. That is part of the reason for renting a camper right?
Upon return, nobody was in a rush, we stayed there for at least a half an hour or so.
Jai Lewis came IN TO THE CAMPER UPON RETURN. I showed him the clip that was broken. This happened while trying to close the cabinet door but the catch wasn't secure. When the catch an is not secure, it hampers the ability to close the door properly. Mr Lewis bent down to look at the door and agreed, it was no big deal, he would just have to replace a 39 cent clip. The next day he complains of being broken at the hinge? I opened the cabinet door to show Mr Lewis the broken clip. He bent down and checked it closely. He did not say - oh the cabinet hinge is broken.
I pointed out to Mr Lewis while he was still in the camper inspecting it, that the rubber part that keeps the screen attached had fallen out part of the way. He examined the window and stated it was no big deal, he could just pop it back in with a screw driver. He said nothing about punctures in the screen, AND he was standing right there with me showing him the damages that I saw upon retuning the camper. He is also stating the other window screen also had punctures. I don't know if they were punctured. As stated the camper was only used for sleeping. I did not use the sink, did not use the microwave - the window screen is far from the bed, so I am not sure it could have been damaged by us in our sleep!
The edging on the counter with the sink and the sink counter detached from the wall????? It was not used by us during our whole trip and was attached to the wall at time of Return walk through. Mr Lewis and I spent a considerable amount of time looking closely through the camper upon our return because I thought my phone was lost somewhere in the camper.
He complains about 2.5 hrs scrubbing and and cleaning up dog hair. I am a landlord and I am the one responsible for cleaning an apartment in between tenants. Mr Lewis has to have some responsibility of clean ups in between rentals. I live with the dog I know he sheds a lot and we told Mr Lewis at pickup this information. I vacuumed the camper before we left Maryland, but we had to stop one night on our trip home to sleep at a rest stop. It was late when we arrived at rest stop and then we left the rest stop to continue home at 5:00AM. I really didn't feel like vacuuming AGAIN from just one nights sleep. It also baffles me how my dogs hair would get into CLOSED STORAGE boxes that were not opened or used one time during our whole trip. 2.5 is a bit of hours for cleaning up some dog hair and washing cushions. My bedroom is three times the size of the camper and I can vacuum, dust the furniture and throw in a load of laundry all within one hour. Also, as I stated above, Mr Lewis should expect the in between maintenance in between rentals. I paid him a decent amount of money to rent the camper, to expect a spic and span camper back is just ridiculous as is taking 2.5 hours to clean that tiny camper. The experience with the camper was fine, we enjoyed ourselves and the camper.
It is Mr Lewis's ludicrous accusations which is ruining my thoughts of renting a camper from someone else again.
I have also Asked Mr Lewis for time and date stamped pictures of before and after pictures. As the plaintiff he has the burden of supplying the proof with important documents and pictures to back up of his accusations, as I may have to hire someone to help me dispute this and the return of my deposit IN FULL which Mr Lewis has requested that it not be returned to me.
