Van has ample storage and all the camping gear you need for an epic adventure. It can be equipped with kayak, bicycles, and fishing gear. When choosing your van, consider roof top storage. Tuck away your dirty laundry & muddy fishing gear upstairs in the "attic" instead of your tight-quarters living space. It makes a world of difference in reducing clutter. The roof storage box is included at no additional charge, and is secured via lock. A second storage box is also available as an add-on for even more storage capacity.Included: a comfortable full-sized memory foam mattress with bedding/pillows, a propane stove/oven, battery bank to charge your devices, outdoor camp shower, camp toilet, cooler with ice/freeze pak, cookware, towels, 5 gallon water jug, camping chairs, firewood, bear spray, roadside emergency kit, and more. See full list in section below. The portable camp toilet is self-contained and has a water flush system (see photos). The portable shower has a decent pressure powered via electric motor. It can be stored on roof to use sunlight to heat water. The van can be equipped for winter camping. Diesel heater add-on, and studded winter tires in the off-season. Plenty of room for snowboards/skis in the storage box on the roof.I drove this van to Florida this winter and lived in it for a 12k mile road trip. It is an ideal companion for adventurous souls on a budget who prefer practicality over looks (same thing I tell my girlfriend). The beauty of the van is not in its appearance, but it’s simplicity. It has everything you need IF you are wild enough at heart. Glamor is deadweight in the wild. What's includedIncluded with the van is:- Free airport delivery, before midnight. (Welcome to Alaska!)

Recommendations• --- Dare to be Different ---The van with Alaskan plates and gas cans on the roof loomed over Maserati’s and Ferraris of Miami. I felt as out of place as Medusa walking into a Target for a routine grocery run. I suspect people expected the uncle from Christmas Vacation to pop out of the van, looking for a place to dump sewage.A look of bewilderment fell on people’s faces as I told them I lived in the van. They could not comprehend such a lifestyle choice.Perhaps their bewilderment stems from blindly following the social norms of a consumerist society filled with social constructs and white-picket fences. Had they ever paused to question what it meant to truly live? Despite their burning curiosities about Alaska, they had never been. I wondered how long that fire inside would dwindle before burning out entirely.“Most people exist, that is all.” - Oscar WildeI am not immune to the winds of society, but as my road trip drew toward a close, a word I had never once questioned before, felt foreign to me: “home”. A somberness overcame me as I thought about returning to a “life” of routine and paychecks.A naïve and stubborn heart of mine remained back somewhere in the misty mountains of the Yukon. I nearly turned around the way I came, leaving what I have always known.Enough about my adventure… Here are the keys, what will yours be?Other things to noteThis vehicle is 27 years old, it is functional, comfortable and safe, but it is no beauty queen. It has some quirks (don't we all). I use this van myself for my own adventures around Alaska. I hope it provides you with as much joy as it has me on my trips.

The experience was good! The Van got us to where we wanted to go. It did have a few quarks to it when driving. It is an older van and has seen lots of adventures! Eric was super easy to work with and was very accommodating with our schedule. The setup has everything you could need…even a fishing pole which prompted us to get our State fishing license! Would absolutely rent from Eric again but perhaps a different vehicle if traveling many miles.

Eric was great to work with and the van met our needs. I would suggest that the van receive maintenance and some of the camping accessories in the van be updated or repaired. An extra blanket would be great and a simple two-burner stove would be better than the oven-combo as it's hard to move around.

10/10 recommend!! Eric picked us up from the airport around 11pm in the van where we drove back w him to his place (short drive) & he showed us all around the van! He gave an incredible tour showing us everything that’s included (which is AMAZING!!!). Eric is such a great guy you’ll wanna be friends w him post-van rental. He is so so kind, gave excellent suggestions/recommendations, was so great with communication & just all around makes you feel at home, as does the van! We had an absolute blast in this van taking it over to Whittier, down to Homer, over to Seward, & then all the way back up to Denali. The bed was cozy & warm. This van legit has everything you need. Being a ‘97, it certainly has its quirks but it absolutely does the job - stalled on us at times while in reverse but we continued to agree that even w some minor quirks to work around, we would 100% (& will) book this van again! An adventure of a lifetime we will never forget thanks to Eric & the Badass Adventure Van!:)

The van died numerous times throughout the trip when turning, stopping or switching gears. The van did not come with the sleeping bags as listed so we had to buy more blankets when we got down there. The host was not helpful with the issues and neither was outdoorsy. The ceiling was falling off and there were no window coverings. The items stored in the van were not strapped in and would slide to the front everytime we stopped. There were two holes drilled in the step inside the van and the seals around the doors were poor so it was not airtight. The check engine light was on the whole time and there were issues with the fuel temperature and pressure. The handle for the stove broke before we could even use it. One pillow was nice and one was very thin. The towels were a good quality. The van was extremely loud with the engine inside, we had to yell to each other the whole trip. Would not recommend.

Eric was so helpful through the whole process. Before I even booked it he was answering all my questions and even making phone calls for me without me even asking. It’s hard to find people who actually care and Eric truly does. He let us check in early and check out late. He let us know of all the vans quirks and checked in on us mid trip to make sure we were doing okay. The van had bear spray, bug spray, shower, toilet, cooler, stove/oven, kettle, chargers, Bluetooth speaker, and A comfy bed. It had everything you need to camp in it. We loved our week spent in this van and if we ever come back and need a camper van we would book with him again. I highly recommend booking with eric! You won’t regret it! :)

Q.Is boondocking in Alaska possible, or do I have to stay at campgrounds?
A.
Boondocking in Alaska is possible, in a large part because of how remote most parts of Alaska is. You can find turnouts and creative camping spots when outside the city of Anchorage. While in Anchorage, Cabelas at 155 W 104th Ave, Anchorage, AK 99515 offers free overnight stays. There are many State campgrounds as well, most of which are $20 per night.

Q.Where can I shower?
A.
In Anchorage there are gyms, such as Planet Fitness. There are also campgrounds throughout Alaska with showers, listed on a website called "allstays" link below. When outside of Anchorage, it gets remote very quickly. The van is equipped with a camp shower with a motorized compressor and shower head that can be used for outdoor use as desired. Also great for rinsing shoes/gear. https://www.allstays.com/Campgrounds/Alaska-am-showers.htm

Q.Are there any restricted roads I can travel, such as gravel roads?
A.
Certain highways in Alaska that go to more remote communities are not regularly maintained by the State of Alaska and can be very rough. I do not restrict the use of any roads with the van, but if you plan to use these roads, an additional $500 security deposit is necessary. Dempster, Denali, Dalton, Elliot, Steese, Taylor, McCarthy
