1Horrible experience with our host. Our two week family vacation to National Parks was terrible. The generator in our rented RV was not working properly so we didn’t have air conditioning in 90+ degree heat with our two kids. It was a safety concern yet neither the host nor Outdoorsy resolved the generator issue. The generator issue also resulted in refrigerator not working so we lost our refrigerated/frozen food. Owner refused to pay to have generator replaced as recommended by the Outdoorsy roadside assistant mechanic (see notes in Outdoorsy from numerous calls and messages). Host was very rude and I spent hours each day on the phone throughout our trip trying to get the generator fixed. Host was very rude and said he would not replace the generator. He did pay for an initial repair of $300 but that did not address the issue as the generator needed to be replaced but he did not want to pay to replace it. Host and outdoorsy expected us to have to drive in 90+ degree heat in an RV with children. The host’s recommendation was to get portable fans and coolers for the food. This was completely unacceptable and a safety concern for our family in addition to all the inconveniences. Not to mention this RV had a horrible sewer smell despite dumping daily, running through the tubes, using Happy Camper RV odor treatment, and we always closed the black tank. Worst vacation ever!
