"Little Buddy" Teardrop Trailer

Travel trailerBoulder, CO
Sleeps 3
7 ft. long
Pet friendly

Explore Colorado and beyond in our compact, tidy and thoughtfully equipped teardrop trailer! Weighing only 1000 lbs (dry/empty) and able to use both 4-pin and 7-pin connectors, Little Buddy tows like a dream behind virtually any car or truck. The "short king" size bed comfortably sleeps two adults and one kid (or a couple dogs). An electric heated blanket keeps you warm through the night, while the powerful rooftop fan keeps temps comfortable during the day. A built-in sink and outdoor shower are supplied by a 5-gallon fresh water tank and electric pump. We include a privacy tent for use with the outdoor shower. As an optional add-on, we can provide a clean, easy-to-use cassette toilet which stows outside the trailer and can be used in the privacy tent.Kitchen-wise, the heavy-duty cooler, built-in two-burner stove and sink make it quick and easy to cook and do dishes. You are free to bring your favorite camp cookware, or for a small fee we'll provide everything you need for an off-grid feast; including tableware for 4, quality kitchen knives, pots and pans, coffee percolator, salt/pepper/olive oil and more.Boondocking it? The camper's battery will supply power for a couple days off-grid, and the included solar panel will extend that. We've installed an advanced battery monitor to tell you exactly what % battery you have remaining. Staying on the grid? Little Buddy's got shore power and water hookups.Located in the southern end of Boulder, CO.We love our Little Buddy and hope you do too! What's includedInterior: Fresh linens, duvet/comforter, 3 pillows, heated 12V blanket, small inverter (for powering AC devices while off grid).Galley: A heavy duty 25-quart cooler with drain is mounted to the front of the trailer. We provide 2-3 pounds of propane with every rental (suitable for ~4 days of meal cooking), and only charge for what gets used ($5/lb).
Optional cook-and-tableware: Silverware, plates, bowls, insulated coffee mugs for 4, Victorinox chef's knives, cutting board, scissors, bottle/cork/can opener, coffee percolator, pot, skillet, colander, lighter, oven mitts, spatula, dishtowel and small amounts of salt, pepper and dish soap.
Exterior: 4-pin and 7-pin adapters, shore power cable with 30-to-15 amp plug adapter, Battery monitor, wheel locks and chocks, 7 gallon drinking water tank, collapsible table and 2 chairs, large cargo bag with extra space for belongings, privacy tent (for shower & port-a-potty), 40W Zamp solar panel & charge controller, 5 gal bucket and hose attachment for sink gray water.Optional propane fire pit: Fire bans are quite common in Colorado due to dry conditions. Fortunately, gas fire pits with an on/off switch like ours are still allowed in most jurisdictions (please check before you go). The fire pit has a long hose that attaches to a standard 20 pound propane tank. NOTE: We do NOT include the 20 pound tank, but you can easily pick up/drop off a tank at several locations near our house.Optional Bike Rack: Rocky Mounts swing-away tray style rack for 2 bicycles (road, mountain, fat, you name it). The rack has a mechanism allowing it to swing out of the way so you can comfortably use the galley without removing the rack or bikes. The rack uses a locking pin and has an integrated bike cable lock.Optional Cassette Toilet: Personally we prefer to do our business in the woods, but thought we'd make this an option for more civilized renters! The cassette toilet is a neat little portable unit that can be placed in the privacy tent for use. It has a fresh water reservoir and hand pump for flushing. It stows in the luggage rack outside the trailer and seals in odors quite well. Before you return the trailer, simply detach the black water tank and dump into any toilet or RV dump station. No need to give it a thorough cleaning - we will take care of that! Please only use the provided toilet paper (no wet wipes).
RecommendationsOur home is located on the southern end of Boulder, and is a short drive from Denver and Fort Collins. From here, there are endless opportunities for quick getaways and longer tours! Here are some of our favorite places to camp; message us and we can send a custom Google Map with more info.
- Rocky Mountain National Park (1 hour drive)
- *Nederland, Ward, Allenspark and Estes Park (30 minute drive)
- *Winter Park & Fraser (1 hour drive) - Excellent mountain biking!
- Golden Gate Canyon State Park (30 minute drive)
- *Lost Creek Wilderness (1.5 hour drive) - Beautiful and remote; great hiking.
- Great Sand Dunes National Park (4 hour drive)
- *Crested Butte (4 hour drive) - Fantastic mountain biking and fall aspen colors.
- Mesa Verde National Park (7 hour drive)
- Yellowstone National Park (8 hour drive)
*At these locations we typically use free "dispersed" (off-grid) campsites. We'll happily share GPS locations of our top-secret spots with renters :)Little Buddy is super maneuverable due to its small size! However, its suspension and ground clearance are not really intended for rugged dirt road use. Please stick to 2WD roads and check our speed over rough patches.
Other things to notePets are welcome with an additional cleaning fee. We use separate linens for renters with / without pets to reduce allergy issues. To tow the trailer, you'll need a 2" ball mounted with the top of the ball 16" above the ground (+/- an inch). We have a couple different height ball mounts you can borrow if needed; please let us know in advance. You'll need either a 4-pin (flat) or 7-pin (round) wiring connector. Note that only a 7-pin vehicle will charge the camper battery while driving (but the battery will be fully charged when you pick up, and you can always charge it with shore power or solar). We provide three full 1-lb propane tanks, and charge $5 for each one that has been opened when you return the camper. We use special refillable tanks, which are environmentally friendly and save us both the trouble of disposing of spent tanks. Note these 1-lb tanks are not compatible with the optional fire pit; you'll need a 20-lb tank for that.Absolutely no smoking in or near the camper, please!

My wife Lyriel and I bought this little teardrop trailer in 2021 for quick mountain getaways with our 1-year old son. We love camping, backpacking, mountain biking and exploring the less crowded corners of the country!

Marshall was a fantastic person to rent from. Easy going and communicative. We took the tear drop to Yellowstone and the Tetons. Perfect size for two adults and two dogs!
Although we didn’t use the extra’s there are plenty of helpful add ons to allow for a smooth trip. Def. Renting this again if we don’t buy one ourselves first!

I took this camper to a country festival down in Buena Vista and it was perfect. Stayed cool inside the camper even during the day when it got hot, and was cozy during the cool nights. Marshall was helpful and even helped us troubleshoot a problem we had with our cars electric connection.
