This will take approximately 30 minutes.. If you require additional time and assistance, a prep charge of $100 per 30 minutes will apply. If you are responsible for draining the battery due to not following the instructions for the solar power and backup camera, a fee of $100 will apply. We have a 5 star rating as hosts and do everything possible to ensure our guests have a trip of a lifetime. Please consider the uniqueness of an old van and what is involved with renting it. Thank you! What's included• Dometic plug-in cooler (please do not put ice in the cooler)
• Camp stove & 1 can of butane
• Dishes, cups, utensils, pots, pans
• Aeropress & perfectly ground coffee
• Linens (pillows, bedding, towels, tea towels, dishcloths)

Recommendations• We love camping in Peter Lougheed in Kananaskis, especially the Elkwood (power sites!) and Lower Lakes.Other things to noteNo smoking inside the van please! Bluey is an old guy with many quirks. We do our best to be upfront to ensure no one is disappointed. We have a manual with all the info you need to make sure you are set up for a great trip.Bluey needs to be plugged in if the temperature drops below 0 degrees celcius. He also likes to have some time to warm up before hitting the road. The ten minute version of "All to Well" does the trick.

We spent 12 glorious days and nights in “Bluey” travelling around Kananaskis country, Banff, Yoho and Mount Revelstoke National Parks! We hiked 60+kms to some of the most epic views in Canada 🤩 It was a trip to remember. Kristie was an exceptional host offering so much travel advice and really made us feel welcome in her home on wheels! Hope we can rent Bluey again some day soon!

Bluey was the best travel companion ever!!! We had an absolutely amazing time adventuring in Bluey - the van was reliable and drove perfectly. There's so much space, everything you could possibly need was included too. The bed was so comfortable that we returned to our actual bed and missed it! The van was warm, clean, and the perfect travel companion - I wanted to stay on the road forever! Kristie was such a great host too - she was responsive from the very start, went above and beyond to help us, and contributed to a really great trip. Nothing at all I could fault with the van, host, or rental process overall. Super cool experience - would recommend to anyone, and will also definitely be hiring again in the future. THANK YOU!!! 🫶🏻

We had a fantastic experience with renting Bluey for a trip to the Rockies! The van was cozy, comfortable, and well equipped for camping (towels, linens, cookware, cleaning supplies, stove, plug in cooler, camping supplies, etc. with solar power). Kristie was a great host as well. She provided very thorough info about the van (make sure you are comfortable driving an older vehicle if you are considering renting), was very friendly, provided tons of recommendations for places to visit and explore, and included a lot of thoughtful touches in the van to make our experience unique:) I would definitely rent again!

Had an amazing weekend camping with Bluey. It was a super rainy, cold weekend and Bluey was the perfect refuge and had everything I needed. She was super fun to cruise in on the highway and Kristie & Blake went out of their way to make sure everything was perfect for my weekend trip. Can't wait to rent her again!

Kristie and Blake were both so kind and absolutely amazing!! Bluey was so much fun to drive around and we had a fantastic adventure. It is FULL of character and charm!! It will make the perfect adventure van for anyone looking for a unique ride! I camped in Bluey for 2 nights on the bow river and was sad it came to an end. They have everything you need to have a great time camping already stocked. The electric cooler is amazing, I was able to cook at camp with no issues. The interior is roomy and bed is SOOO comfy I slept like a baby! I borrowed a paddle board and bear spray, it was GREAT to have both on board. Extremely handy for hikes and floats. I was flying in from out of town and I felt very taken care of. It felt like borrowing a van from friends! Kristie is super quick with communication and extremely kind and caring. I was in great hands if something were to go awry, but nothing did! Blake was fantastic and made me feel so comfortable in a new vehicle. He went over all Blueys fun features and little quirky bits very efficiently and took me on a little demo drive, it set me up for a successful and low stress trip! I would 120% rent Bluey again next time I’m in Calgary!

Rules and policies
We want you to have an unforgettable adventure with Bluey—but to keep him happy and healthy for the next traveller, here are a few ground rules: • Drive Slow, Stay Safe Top speed is 110 km/hr (on a good day). Bluey likes to cruise, not race. No off-roading—gravel roads are fine, but Bluey is not a 4x4. • Respect the Ride No smoking or vaping inside the van. Treat him like a classic—gently with the gear shifts, careful with the doors. • Pets Welcome (within reason!) Well-behaved pups are totally welcome—just keep muddy paws off the bedding and clean up after them. Please vacuum the van before returning it to ensure that you have helped us manage the dog hair. If you don't have a change to do this, we can help! (The cleaning charge is $50-$150 depending on the state of the van upon return). • Keep it Clean Please return Bluey clean inside—sweep out the dirt, wipe surfaces, and empty the trash. If you use the kitchen items, wash dishes before you return. We’ll clean the outside, you clean the inside. Deal? • Fuel & Fluids Bluey goes out with a full tank and must be returned full (regular gas). Top up windshield washer fluid and check oil if you’re on a longer trip (we’ll show you how). • Return On Time Return Bluey on time unless previously arranged—he gets cranky if he’s late for his next adventure. Bluey is more than a van—he’s a 40-year-old travel buddy with a lot of character and even more heart. Please treat him kindly, drive with care, and enjoy the slow magic of van life.
