Hello,
My name is Carol and I was born in the English Lake District. As a child I really loved going out in my dads van (Betsy) exploring, hiking and having a lot of fun. My parents had a caravan that we would go to on weekends and it was brilliant! We enjoyed fire pits, banana boats and games. I loved those times and continued doing the same here in Canada. I have been in Canada 34 years and my children are grown. I am Nana to a beautiful 4 year old girl and she has loved helping me with Betsy! We have already slept in her a few times. My wish is that everyone can experience the outdoors and nature (a little more comfortably than a tent.) There is so much to see and explore in this great province and country of ours.

Carol was a responsive host who took the time to tell me all about her van (Betsy) before my trip. She made herself available to answer questions during the trip and had good recommendations for activities during my trip.
Betsy (the van) was old, but so reliable and comfortable. She had everything one could possibly need for a two week national parks adventure. I LOVED being able to cozy up in her at the end of a day, especially on those cooler or rainy days. The refrigerator was surprisingly large, and was much appreciated for cold drinks and foods. It was nice to have a nice cold drink at the end of a long hike. Carol was kind enough to provide a Canadian national parks pass, which saved me much time from waiting in line to get a pass and some money on the trip.

Experience with the van Betsy and her host Carol was excellent. The van is equipped with lots of useful stuff for cooking, cooling food, living the campground at the best. Even if the van is old, we went through the national parks and mountain roads without a single problem because Carol pays attention to the most important checks to have the van in order. It is easy to drive anywhere and park at the RV slots.
It is awesome the solar panel that give energy to the fridge and the ventilation. Carol provided us with the gas tank for cooking and everything we needed. Super were the binoculars and the available bear spray to hike. Carol is friendly and precise in giving instructions of the van. You can feel the love she has for her van and we felt gratitude to use it for an affordable price. Thank you Carol (and Betsy)! The experience of visit Rockies with this van is truly unforgettable!

Our host, Carol, was a wonderful communicator. She was very kind and was easy to reach. She accommodated us with an early pick up and provided a travel water kettle we requested. However, the bed was far from comfortable. It's definitely time to upgrade the mattress. The bed linens smelled of body odor, so I don't think they were clean (gross). All of the pits, pans, griddle, and dishes were dirty! This is a real inconvenience when you are camping, not to mention gross! The windshield had a crack from one side all the way to the other side. The van had zero storage space for any of our luggage or personal items, so all week we were tripping over our gear to get dressed or get in/out of bed. The van was very dingy. It got us through our trip and we made it work. The camp chairs and awning were a nice touch. There was a large propane tank on top of the van. I told the host we wouldnt ever need that much and could we just leave it behind. We were told, no it goes with the van. We were laughed at everywhere we went with the big tank on the roof. Overall, I do not recommend this van unless the problems I mentioned will not bother you.
Carol’s answer
Thank you for the feedback. I do hope any reading this review consider other guests experiences as well. Betsy is an aging beauty, reliable and an economical choice verses newer expensive vans. All pots and dishes are CLEAN but not new and shiny as they are meant for camping. Bedding is laundered and changed every trip . Many issues you raise seem to be about newness , perhaps you expected a newer van without expensive price rental? Mattress is very comfy but that’s a personal preference .I enjoy hosting even if some things did not meet your expectations. Sadly wear and tear does occur like on arrival I could smell porta potty that had not been cleaned (Absolutely gross) and had broken handle and curtain rod When handling new things like fridge, fan etc there is an expectation to follow labels to limit breakage like the cooler lid from prying it from the wrong side when clearly labeled All things that had to be addressed and fixed . Wishing you the best on your future adventures.

Betsy is an awesome van and Carol is incredible host! I picked Betsy up in Calgary and drove it down to Glacier National Park for a week in July. Betsy couldnt have been more perfect for my adventure. The coffeemaker, overhead fan, fridge all worked great and EVERYTHING you could need came along with the van. Carol even had bear spray that I carried for the week. Once of the best trips of my life!

The campervan is amazing, it's got everything that you need and is very authentic. The brakes could use a service but otherwise the driving is very nice as well. Unfortunately the bed extension broke on day 1 and we had to sleep sideways (me being 6"5' and my partner 5"7') which wasn't awesome.
