If you love wine, Lodi, CA, is the location for you. With more than 85 wineries in the Lodi area, you’ll be able to raise a glass anytime in this lovely city in northcentral California. Lodi (pronounced LOH-dye) is 45 miles south of Sacramento, and 90 miles southwest of Eldorado National Forest. Plus, you can book an RV in Lodi and travel the 90 miles to San Francisco if you like.

The city of Lodi, located in San Joaquin County, was founded in 1869. Once upon a time, back in the 1880s, Lodi was the unofficial “Watermelon Capital of the Country”. For more than a century, Lodi has been best known for its wine. At least as far back as 1899, Lodi had a minimum of two million grapevines and just kept growing. Prohibition in 1920 had little effect on Lodi’s wine production, as it still stayed strong. Lodi is considered the Zinfandel capital of the world.
If you prefer soda over wine, you’ll be thrilled to know that A&W Root Beer was born in Lodi in 1919. Make sure you visit the A&W Museum located in the A&W restaurant.
