New for this season: Starlink internet included. Stream, take calls, and work from a foliage overlook with no cell service — the dish runs straight off the van's battery bank, so you don't need a campground or a generator to stay connected.Fall is the best time of year to have this van. The crowds are gone, the campgrounds are wide open, and the Webasto diesel heater runs all night without touching the engine or burning propane — so a 30°F morning in the White Mountains, the Berkshires, or Acadia feels like waking up at home. Insulated vinyl-wrapped window covers keep the heat in and the light out. When it warms back up, the 10,000 BTU rooftop AC with variable output has you covered. It's fully self-contained: a real indoor shower with hot water, a composting toilet, a four-burner stove, and 55 gallons of fresh water. Park where the view is and stay put.Built to go days without plugging in or turning the key. A 560W solar array, a large lithium battery bank, and 60A battery-to-battery charging mean you can boondock through a long weekend of leaf-peeping without hunting for hookups.Great for

Responsive and helpful throughout trip

John was super responsive, provided clear, detailed explanations for all van systems, and was easy to work with, genuinely striving to make trips extraordinary.

Easy to drive and maneuver

Drives like a car, handling well with great sight lines, and is easy to maneuver. It's fully equipped with refrigerator, stove, queen bed, running water, solar-powered electricity/AC, and off-grid systems that work reliably.

This campervan is a dream! It was everything my 15-year-old son and I needed for a delightful father/son fishing and camping trip. It drives like a car, yet it is decked out with everything from a refrigerator and stove to a table and more than queen-sized bed. We had running water and plenty of storage space, and the electricity and air-conditioning was powered by solar panels on the roof! The owner, John, was super nice and helpful. We'll definitely be renting this amazing campervan again next year!

I rented this off-grid van for four days through Outdoorsy and had a great beginner-friendly experience. This was my first time trying van life, and the van made it feel approachable and fun. The host was excellent—super responsive with communication before and during the trip, and they left clear, detailed explanations for all the systems in the van. Everything from the solar setup, water, propane, and electrical worked reliably throughout the four days, which gave me confidence as a newbie. Driving the van was surprisingly easy. It handled well, had great sight lines, and was straightforward to maneuver even on some tighter roads and parking situations. The layout inside felt practical for short trips, and I never felt overwhelmed by the off-grid aspects. Overall, I’d highly recommend this van (and this host) to anyone new to van life who wants a reliable, well-equipped rig without a steep learning curve. It was a solid introduction to the lifestyle and left me wanting to do more trips like this. Thanks again to the host for making it smooth! Would rent again. 👍

My experience was outstanding. There was chaos with the weather (heat wave) and the holiday celebration (fourth of July) but the host was so easy to work with! The van seriously had everything you could think of or need. Being pet friendly was awesome. My elderly cat enjoyed the trip to Ohio. The host was very thorough and communicative. I would 💯 rent from them again! Highly recommend!

John was incredible and his van was our home away from home for the weekend. He made everything as easy as possible. Genuinely wanted to help make our trip extraordinary. I highly recommend anyone looking to look no further because John's van has everything you will need.

Hi I'm John! I built out my 2016 Ford Transit 350 HD XLT Passenger van over Covid with the help of (a) Google Sketch, (b) FarOutRide's electrical, propane and water guides and (c) countless hours of watching YouTube, designing layouts, prototyping systems and building! I fully tested the van on an awesome 2 month, 10,000 mile cross country trip and hope you enjoy the van as much as I do! PS: The van was also professionally cleaned after this trip. Also, if you would like to do any winter trips (skiing, snow shoeing, hiking) in the van, I have bought and am going to install a Webasto heater this fall to keep you cozy and warm. I personally enjoy surfing all year round on the east and west coast, skiing, hiking, and of course traveling!
