Our experience with Carl and the Ram Winnebago was great! The van was super reliable and the few times we had questions, Carl answered the phone on the first call. 1,100 miles around the Tetons, Yellowstone, Beartooth and Cheif Joseph Highway!

The van has all of the supplies you need and way more! It has a ton of power options, seemed to get good gas mileage and didn’t have any problems getting around in very rainy, muddy weather. Bedding was comfortable and everything worked well. It was our first time renting a van or using Outdoorsy and it went very seamlessly! Best of all the host, Carl was amazing! He was so nice, responsive and helpful. He went out of his way to answer questions, give recommendations and wanted to hear all about our visit. He also worked with us on pickup and delivery options. I highly recommend this van if you are ever in the West Yellowstone area!

Frequently asked questions

Q.

Are there any special tricks and tips that would help with operating the RV easily?

A.

Every van has its quirks and if RV life is new it can seem daunting, But I try to make sure that something like worrying about how to turn on the water is not gonna distract you from having an amazing trip. I do a full walk-through of the van’s systems when you arrive (e.g. heat, power, water and waste tanks, etc). I provide a resource guide with an overview. And I provide my cell phone to guests, calls or texts are welcome and encouraged. any time there’s a question, big or small.

Q.

What flexibility is available for picking up and dropping off the RV?

A.

I can deliver and pick up from anywhere within 350 miles, Including Los Angeles, San Diego, and Las Vegas airports. Delivery price is the total round-trip price for delivery and pickup, While this site doesn’t let you enter two different delivery/return locations, I can do that as well. Just ask and I can send you a quote.

Q.

Does the van come with a generator, or how does power work off-grid

A.

Recently switched from a built-in generator to an expanded lithium battery bank that fully charges by roof solar, driving, and shore power. The batteries power most of what you’ll need, but the the roof air conditioner, microwave, and a subset of outlets require being plugged into shore power. Please let me know if you plan on extended off-grid camping so we can review your options.

I have so many happy memories of my dad taking me and my brother camping and fishing with the Cub Scouts. I developed a love for the outdoors—nature, the stars, wildlife—and the feeling of freedom when I would wander off to explore nearby woods, ponds, and marshes. I loved helping grow living things while building gardens and tending houseplants and my aquarium. For most of my adult life I lived in a city, working in an office, daydreaming about being outdoors. Photos and houseplants reminded me of the remote and wild places I wanted to be. After too many years of city life taking its toll on my health and spirit, I decided to fulfill a dream. I left the city and moved into an RV full time. I hit the road and started exploring one beautiful wonder of nature after another. Leaving the noise behind and being out in nature has been healing. It is a way of life that I don’t take for granted. I’m happy I get to help others connect with the outdoors through some time exploring in an RV.
