2021 Coachmen Clipper Ultra-Lite 17FQS

Sadly, we experienced a dark water nightmare. I believe the trailer was dropped off without proper sanitation, and it ruined our weekend. The trailer arrived as reserved, but it appeared to have been hauled directly from a previous rental without the toilet tank being cleaned or sanitized. The windows were also covered in dirt, dust, and gravel. On day one, the smell was tolerable because we thought it might be normal. This was my first time renting a trailer, so I did not know what to expect. By day three, even though we had not used the toilet or shower, the stench became unbearable. It was so bad it made us feel sick, and we had to leave and sleep somewhere else. The owner came to sanitize the tank, which should have been done before the trailer was delivered. I asked for a one-day refund, and the owner agreed. My wife wanted me to ask for a full refund, but I did not. I am not saying this is the provider’s normal way of doing business. I am sure this was bad luck and an unfortunate experience for us. What I would encourage every RV and trailer renter to ask before booking is this: “When was the trailer last rented, and when were the tanks last cleaned and sanitized?” Going forward, if I ever get over this experience enough to rent a trailer again, that will be my first question.

RV was in good shape. Manuel was a nice renter and checked me out on the camper before I left. We camped in the Mojave during the heat wave and the AC in the camper kept us comfortable during 108 degree weather.

Manuel was super helpful and knowledgeable, explaining everything I needed to know about the trailer, and guiding me through the adjustment of my new brake controller.
