Recommendations
Our favorite destination is Colorado Bend State Park which is located 3.5 hours away.
This is an easy drive with many camping spots available. The park has all kinds of beautiful hiking trails, natural springs and even some caves.
We also love camping at Ray Roberts Lake State Park. Only 30 minutes away is a quick retreat to enjoy a beautiful lake with hiking, fishing, and other lake activities. Our dogs love to take a dip or jump on our paddle board together.
If wanting to gamble you can stay at the Winstar Casino or Choctaw Casino campgrounds. Cheaper and better than staying at the hotels!
Other great options include:
1-2 hours: Lake Tawakoni State Park, Ray Roberts Lake State Park, Eisenhower State Park, Dinosaur Valley State Park, Cross Timbers Trail at Lake Texoma, Lake Bob Sandlin State Park, Tyler State Park, Turner Falls, Lewisville Lake.
3-6 hours: Beavers Bend State Park, Colorado Bend State Park, McKinney Falls State Park, Enchanted Rock State Natural Area, Palo Duro Canyon State Park, Lake Ouachita State Park.
Other things to note
To expedite your rental please send us a message with the following questions answered:
1) How many adults & children will occupy the trailer?
2) What prior camping experience do you have, if any?
3) How many years of camping experience do you have?
4) Will you be bringing pets? If so, what age, size & temperament are they? Are they potty trained?
5) Where is your camping destination(s)?
6) Do you plan to boondock (without any hookups)? This is discouraged for new campers as you will have limited power, water, tank capacity, etc.
7) What vehicle will you be towing with? Has it been height adjusted (lifted or lowered)?
8) What is your vehicles payload & towing capacity?
9) Does your vehicle have a 7-pin power connector (required)?
10) Do you have an electric brake controller hooked up (required)?
The driver(s) towing the trailer must be approved by Outdoorsy & you must carry insurance for this rental.
We have a Supplemental Rental Agreement which is required to complete your reservation. This agreement will provide all of the rules & expectations for the rental so there are no unsuspected fees for you. We can email this to you ahead of time to review & sign.
Pets will be considered if approved ahead of time. There is a $250.00 refundable pet deposit per pet. Refund will be kept if trailer has damage or odor from pets.
No rooftop access. For your own safety.
Use the awning at your own risk as you are personally responsible for any damage. Weather can easily cause damage when the awning is open.
Absolutely no smoking inside the rental at any time.
