Meet "Merv," our retro 1980 campervan and the star of the show everywhere we go! Merv has been featured in marketing campaigns, social media ads, and even an indie movie, so don't be surprised if people take a second look as you cruise by. The best part of Merv is that you don't need to worry about hooking up a trailer, towing, or backing a rig in to your campsite—Merv drives like a regular van, so no special experience needed to enjoy your trip.

Hey folks! My wife and I got into the "van life" on a bit of a whim about 9 years ago when we decided to take one last big trip before my wife started grad school. We purchased our first van, packed up our dog, and drove down to Arizona and back up to the prairies through a mix of in-land desert and the west coast, and had the time of our lives. We became hooked on how easy and fun it was to hop in and go and how much flexibility it gave us in where we chose to stop and sleep. We are now on our second van, and we are so excited to be able to let others in on the joys of van camping! Cheers, and happy trails :)
- No smoking of anything (jazz cigarettes or regular) inside the vehicle! If Merv comes back smelling of smoke that is not from a campfire, you will be responsible for the cost of having all soft surfaces inside shampooed.
- No shoes in the back of Merv (i.e., beyond the "cockpit"), please!
- Merv must be returned with the gas refilled; if not, the cost to refill plus a $20 service fee will be deducted from your security deposit. Please bring your receipt showing the fill upon returning the van.
- Merv must be returned in the same condition he was received. We will of course cover cleaning the bedding and towels, but if significant other cleaning is required (i.e., dirty dishes, a great deal of dirt or pet hair inside, etc.), a $35/hr cleaning fee will be deducted from your security deposit to get him back in shape for the next renter.

Merv is well maintained and well equipped older camper. Ryan and his partner were very helpful in walking me through everything I needed to know. They were flexible where I needed that. It was a fun trip.

Honestly it could not have been a better trip. Merv was perfect! The level of organization within this van was inspiring. Everything is perfectly labelled. Fly into Edmonton and don't worry about a thing because Merv has it!

Merv is a highway CHAMP! He has a few minor quirks—which you’d expect in a van of his age—but Ryan and Dani were so fantastic about walking me through them and it’s obvious that they really care about making sure you have a great experience. No trouble on the road, super well equipped, an absolute blast to drive, and you’ll definitely have the most instant cred you’ve ever had in your life when you roll up to the campsite in this unit. Huge fan!

Our night away in Merv was perfect, we didn't need to use the kitchen equipment for our getaway but the accommodations were excellent and we look forward to hanging out with Merv again one day!
