2015 Forest River Other
We're a family of six and love the outdoors. We also love being comfortable and believe the journey is just as important as the destination. Our RV provides both. We could own a trailer, but chose the RV because we still like to take naps as we travel and love not having to pull over to make a sandwich, use the bathroom or cook popcorn. This RV is approximately 32 feet in length with a Ford V10 engine, comes with automatic Jack leveling and a backup camera which makes driving and setting up fun and easy. It sleeps 8 adults and two children at maximum capacity and has 2 slides. Ford 450 chassis, 4KW Onan generator, power mirrors with heat, power windows, and locks, pass-thru storage, power patio awning, slide-out room toppers, exterior shower, 7.5K lb. hitch, back up camera, exterior entertainment center, 7-foot ceilings, all in 1 bath, 3 burner range with gas oven, cab-over bunk, ducted roof A/C with heat pump and 4 TVs (one outside).See this youtube video of the same model...Note: This is not our video, but reflects what the inside looks like. https://youtu.be/C9nplro3Oao (cut and paste in new browser)Additional features include: Custom Paint ($8,000 upgrade....no fading stickers on this rig), Bigfoot automatic level system; exterior shower, leather sofa with sleeper, booth converts to sleeper, microwave, refrigerator, Serta mattress, glass door shower and much more.Sorry, we do not allow travel outside the U.S. (I.E. Canada and Mexico)Contact us for any questionsWhat's includedDue to recent conditions, we have removed nearly everything from the RV to keep it safe for all. Please bring sheets, towels, blankets, pillows, plates, silver ware, etc. We do have a few pots and pans. Sorry.Other things to noteWe (like many of the other owners on rental sites) only allow up to 100 miles a day and generally prefer local rentals. Each additional mile is $1.00. We believe this is important to tell you upfront so you can plan accordingly. We also don't allow Boondocking where electricity is not available. Please provide the location where you will have a 30amp hook up. Believe us, trying to boondock will cause many problems for you and your family in any rented RV or trailer. Problems with the toilet, air conditioning and battery drainage to the point you would be responsible for damages. Having over night electricity is key.

Overall, great first experience renting an RV. First thing we learned...there's a lot to learn! A solid effort was made to communicate everything we needed to know, but hard to retain everything. When we first picked up, we were told that we needed to make a stop at an RV store to purchase a new cord that the previous renters fried. Not ideal, but WAY better than having the reservation cancelled. We were reimbursed for the expense and only had a minor inconvenience with the pit stop. When the new cord didn't fix the issue totally, Doug drove over an hour to where we were camping to make sure that the issue was rectified. Everything from then on worked great. Had one snag dumping the waste (apparently didn't do it correctly. Seemed easy, but needed more than YouTube to get it right!). So, even though we wound up having to pay the fee for Doug to take care of the issue, he gave us a slight discount on that charge since we were inconvenienced by the stop.
All in all, we would rent an RV again, and def consider renting again from Doug.

This was our first time in an RV and it was a good time. Doug and family were really helpful and provide us with useful information to have a good time. The only thing we didn’t really enjoy was the smell from the bathroom especially when is moving. I don’t know if it’s every RV and that’s how it is but other than that it was a good trip.
Kastell’s answer
Thanks Romana! It was great meeting your family. Typically if the bathroom smells when traveling, it can be fixed by adding more water to the toilet (flushing longer). This will dilute the waste and keep the smell down between campsites. This is a good lesson for all and we have decided to add a new list of how to properly clear the black and grey tanks at the campground. Thanks again!

I was very happy when Doug accepted my request, and I immediately cancelled several other requests along with a reservation at Cruise America. Unfortunately this beautiful RV is listed on multiple rental sites, and even though the owner agreed to my requested dates he was unable to honor the agreement due to overbooking outside of Outdoorsy. I appreciate that he informed me promptly and my deposit was refunded, but I am still very disappointed. It is an amazing RV, so I might try for it another time.
Kastell’s answer
Yes, this was very unfortunate. Kenneth booked nearly five minutes after another renter and we didn't have enough time to update the calendar before Kenneth got to it. We operate and honor the first come first serve basis rule. We notified Kenneth within minutes of his rental, so I'm not sure why we received a 1 star rating when he has never stepped foot in our RV or met us. We too are disappointed.

Overall we enjoyed our first experience with RV camping. Everything was clean and comfy, and Doug was very thorough with his explanations. As first timers, it definitely helped to have the video that we recorded of the explanations! The Larsons also helped us troubleshoot a couple of mechanical issues that popped up. They were a great family to work with. Thanks for the adventure!
