When you book an RV in Orange County, you will open up the wilds of central Florida’s forests and wetlands. The Great Outdoors

Head northwest of town with the Clarcona motorhome rental and you'll find the Lake Apopka North Shore near Apopka, Florida. This local park and nature preserve is right at home on the northern shores of Lake Apopka, one of central Florida’s many small lakes. At Lake Apopka, visitors can enjoy exploring the more than 20 miles of hiking trails that wind throughout the preserve. There are even locations throughout the park where you can launch a canoe or kayak and get an even closer experience of the wetlands.

If you’re looking for something even a little more on the wild side, then take a quick trip north to Wekiwa Springs State Park. Almost like a tropical forest escape in the middle of Florida, Wekiwa Springs boasts “emerald springs” throughout the park that are open to swimmers. Whether you want to enjoy the natural springs or see what kinds of Florida wildlife you might find since the park is part of the Great Florida Birding & Wildlife Trail, Wekiwa Springs is a great spot to escape from reality for a little while. If you’d like to enjoy the rivers and springs but don’t want to get wet yourself, you can even rent a canoe or kayak on site and explore the park via the waterways.

An easy drive east of town, and the perfect day trip is the Little Big Econ State Forest near Geneva, Florida. At Little Big Econ, visitors can enjoy the more than 10,000 acres of protected land via hike and bike trail or canoe and kayak. The land of the park itself has had a varied history, from Native tribe lands to farming to ranching. Today, visitors can enjoy this now protected land as it returns back to a natural landscape. Visitors to the park often enjoy paddling down the Econlockhatchee River which flows through the park for almost 20 miles. If you’d rather stay on dry land, you can spend your day hiking the eight-mile stretch of the Florida National Scenic Trail that cuts through the park.
