Blue Ridge, GA, located in Fannin County, is known as Georgia's favorite mountain town. Here, you'll find some of the most beautiful views along with some fantastic places to check out while you are out exploring. Blue Ridge is home to many historical sites, as well as limitless options for the outdoor enthusiast. In addition to the beautiful views, the city is home to many waterfalls, hiking trails, and unique local shops and restaurants.
The city is also home to the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway, which is a 4-hour (26-mile) round trip to McCaysville/Copperhill, TN in antique rail cars along the Toccoa River. Initially built in the late 1800s for miners moving coal and freight, the railroad was sold in the 1990s to a private party to preserve this little piece of history. You can purchase tickets and ride the trail while enjoying the beauty of the mountains, without having to drive.
Blue Ridge is listed as one of Georgia’s top 5 Art towns and is home to the Blue Ridge Arts Center. In Blue Ridge, you'll find many different art exhibits, live music, and the Georgia Mountain Fairground. The Georgia Mountain Fairground hosts many different events year-round like the Superstar Concert Series, the Georgia Mountain Fall Festival, the Appalachian Jazz and Wine Festival, and Georgia's Official State Fiddler's Competition.
The Great Outdoors
When you book an RV in Blue Ridge, you will have access to several unique recreational locales, including the Aska Trail System, which is situated in south central Fannin County near Deep Gap, and offers a year-round hiking and biking trail system that is 17-miles in length. Those with or without hiking experience are able to hike trails in the system. The Trails range from one to five and a half miles and some places get a bit more strenuous. If you're looking for a day hike or even a place to get on your mountain bike for a ride, Aska Trail System is a great place to try!
The Cohutta Wilderness is a WMA (wildlife management area) that is partially in Georgia and partially in Tennessee. This WMA provides over 34,000 acres of wilderness, hiking trails, hunting grounds, and phenomenal trout streams. If you’re a more seasoned hiker, check out the Cohutta for your next hike. Take note that there are limitations on the number of folks allowed in a single group and the use of a camp fire. Also when you visit the Cohutta, be aware that many of the rivers and streams here are very prone to flooding in heavy rain.
Morganton Point Recreation Area is located in Morganton, GA and is only a short 5-minute drive from downtown Blue Ridge. Here you will find Lake Blue Ridge, which offers 60 miles of shoreline. The day-use area is perfect for swimming, boating, fishing, picnics, and even several hiking trails around the lake. Morganton Point is a great place to park your Blue Ridge travel trailer and spend the day.

Blue Ridge Lodge and RV Park is a member of the National Association of RV Parks and can be found in Morganton, GA on Old Hwy 76. This RV park is a bit of an all-in-one campground, as they offer both cabin rentals along with RV campsites. A few of the amenities offered include full hook-up for your RV, fire pits, grills, and they're pet-friendly. Rates vary per campsite and are offered in nightly, weekly, and monthly options. Blue Ridge Lodge and RV Park is located just seven minutes from downtown Blue Ridge so you should have no issues in getting there.
Toccoa Valley Campground, located in Blue Ridge, is a bit more upbeat than some of the other parks in the area. This campground offers several amenities that you won’t find at other parks. If you’re an outdoor enthusiast looking for your next adventure, Toccoa Valley Campground offers rentals of tubes, kayaks, and rafts with a shuttle service to take you up the river. There are twelve sites on this campground with full hook-up, but their website states that RVs longer than 24 feet in length are not recommended.
Crossing Creeks RV Resort and Spa is located just 25 minutes East of Blue Ridge in Blairsville, GA. This resort offers many amenities for the whole family. Whether you want to relax by the river, go for a swim in the pool, or even take the family for a game of putt-putt, Crossing Creeks has many different things to enjoy on the campground. Some of the other amenities include laundry facilities, full hook-ups, and even tennis courts.
Should you need a quick overnight stay, consider Walmart, truck stops, or larger grocery stores. There is a Walmart located in Blue Ridge and camping may be allowed at this locations. Just check with the manager to get permission. Being located near Ellijay and Blairsville, RV rental near Blue Ridge is common, therefore, you should be able to find great amenities.
Exploring the City
There's a multitude of attractions located near Blue Ridge that provides a variety of fun for people of all ages. Visit with your Blue Ridge motorhome rental during Memorial Day and September and check out PIckin' in the Park! This event is a concert series of acoustic musicians that play every Thursday night on the banks of the Toccoa River in Horse Shoe Bend Park in McCaysville.
