The abundance of land is mind boggling! Grand Junction is surrounded by more than a million acres of public lands. Some places might require permits or fees, just remember these fees go towards conservation and management of the lands. There are over 20 official campsites within the Grand Valley. Two of our favorite places to camp are 18 Rd in Fruita and Knowles Overlook (Rabbit Valley) in Loma.
