This is a natural campground and does not provide a lot of modern conveniences, but you are not more than a few miles from all amenities and services in town. The campground does accommodate large RVs and you will enjoy the incredible peace and quiet. The 600 or so acres here include walking and hiking trails. Stay on the trails or getting lost is a real possibility. Watch for wildlife, as the forest preserve is a natural habitat for deer, otters, hawks, and other forest creatures. The washrooms are clean and maintained. Sites are level asphalt and grass, with a dump station at the entrance to the campground. Sit quietly and listen to the birdsong of the forest. There is plenty of room for exploratory play for kids. Out here the forest is the playground!
