The ‘Red Rocket’ is a very reliable truck that has a Four Wheel camper on it that is in excellent condition. The Toyota is in top condition at 155,000 miles and we maintain it thoroughly. The four wheel drive Red Rocket can handle rough terrain and will get to places that vans will not.
The popup Four Wheel camper is a 2008 Eagle model. When popped it is perfect for a couple adults and a kid or two. It contains a queen size bed and a couch that can sleep someone as well. The couch is a roll over couch, which means it becomes a bed that is around the size of a twin. The camper has solar panels on top and two newer batteries. With Colorado sunshine you can stay in one spot for three days without having to start the truck to charge the batteries. The camper has a fridge that keeps things very cool. In addition, the camper has a sink and a 20 gallon water tank. Also, we carry 6-12 gallons of fresh water in jugs for drinking and washing, which I will provide if you would like. The heater in the camper keeps things warm as the camper has insulated canvas. In the middle of winter you will stay plenty warm in the mountains. The 20 lb tank of propane will last 4 nights in the winter if you are using the heater for about 8-10 hours a day.
The Red Rocket has a Yakima ‘Swing Daddy’ bike rack, which allows for easy access to the back of the camper. The rack also has an attachment for snowboards and skis. The rack will carry 3 to 4 bikes or snowboards/skis.
A quick note: the pop up process is supported with hydraulic struts. It is easy to do even with some items on the roof rack.
With rental you will receive clean linens, dishes and utensils, 2 camping chairs, 1 camping table, 2 six gallon water jugs, step stool, bike/ski rack, Colorado atlas (other states available upon request).
From Longmont you 15 minutes from the mountains, 45 minutes from Rocky Mountain National Park and much more. The rig is great at campgrounds but also getting into the National Forest and camping away from everyone is awesome as well. There is so much to see and do in the Colorado mountains, you really can't go wrong.

We like to escape to the mountains in the silver bullet as much as possible. We like to hike, bike, ski, snowboard and explore the mountains in the bullet. We get out as much as we can but life demands keep us in civilization more that we would like. Take advantage of our busy schedule and explore for us!

Please take care of the 'Red Rocket'. She is our outlet to adventure. All we ask is to show respect to her. The one thing I can think of is, please no smoking in the truck and camper.

Renting from Michael was great! The truck camper was perfect for our family of 4 (littles are 3 & 6). We rented for a week and explored Colorado. The camper had everything we needed and was just the right amount of space for us.
We would rent again.

Mike was the ideal host for our week in the frozen snow country and everything worked out great. He answered our questions, worked with us on pickup and dropoff, showed us a bunch of useful tips, and there was still propane left just like he said after cooking a few meals and four nights in subzero temperatures (using sleeping bags to supplement the onboard heater). To keep water and groceries from freezing, we put them in the fridge and just left the power off. The two-level sleeping arrangements were a draw, but since the upper platform has about the same footprint as a three-person tent, my son and I wound up both using that. Especially in warmer weather when it's easier to get outside, you could go beyond two people in this rig. We had a great time and would definitely rent this truck camper from Mike again.

This was my first time renting through Outdoorsy, and Mike really made a great impression! The camper was terrific, just as described, perfect for two people, or in my case me and my adult-sized dog. I really wanted to try a pop-up camper and was very happy this one was available. Mike was very organized and took care to ensure that I understood how to use everything on the camper before I left. He was also very responsive when I had a question while on the road, which I was very appreciative of!
