SkylightRecommendationsThe TAG shines at developed campgrounds with electric hookups. Texas has many awesome parts within a short drive. Enjoy the lake during the day and sleep in a/c at night!Cedar Hill State Park — About 30 minutes south on Joe Pool Lake. Wooded sites, waterfront views, easy kayaking and fishing. One of the best state parks in the Metroplex and a great first camping trip.
Loyd Park (Grand Prairie) — Right on Joe Pool Lake with lakeside sites, a swimming beach, and a genuinely relaxed vibe. Only about 25 minutes away.
Lake Mineral Wells State Park — About an hour west. Rock climbing, mountain biking, a pretty lake, and much more of a "we got away" feel than anything closer to the city.
Possum Kingdom State Park — Just about an hour west of the DFW Metroplex, this one is worth the extra drive. The lake features dramatically clear turquoise water, limestone cliffs, and great bass fishing. It feels way more remote than it actually is.
The Vineyards Campground (Grapevine) — If you want something close and easy, this lakeside spot in Grapevine is beautiful and only 30 minutes away.Other things to noteYou'll need a vehicle that can tow around 2,000 lbs — most SUVs and trucks are just fine. Of course you also need a hitch receiver with a 7-pin trailer plug.
Pets are welcome but please do not leave them unattended inside the teardrop.
Please return the trailer in the same condition you received it. A prep fee covers our standard cleaning and restock between trips.
We recommend a campsite with electric hookup because the battery will not run the A/C.
