The Breakneck Ridge Trail, which is about five miles long, has been rated one of the best day hikes in the US, and this challenging trail rises over 1,000 feet in less than a mile. If you’d prefer a more relaxed hike, however, there are plenty of easier trails throughout the park. When you visit the Hudson Highlands, keep in mind that much of the park is undeveloped, so come prepared with your own food, water, and supplies.
