Ready for any adventure on pavement or gravel. See the touristy spots you've probably heard of AND the many spots you haven't! Don't let the gravel roads stop you from finding the hidden gems that make Vancouver Island one of the top adventure destinations in the world. Much of the beauty of our island is only accessible by logging roads. Our 4x4 rig is well equipped to explore all roads of Vancouver Island. The low and narrow camper is easy to drive in towns and on most logging roads, and can access some of the smaller campsites. The truck can handle many offroad conditions and includes basic offroad tools and supplies. The truck is reliable and has lots of ground clearance to get through most rough and potentially muddy spots on the main logging roads around here. We can explain everything. The short box crew cab truck has lots of room in the back seat to store your adventure gear, and can be comfortably driven and parked in town. The camper is a classic 1996 Hallmark offroad popup with insulated softsides. It's cozy but can comfortably sleep three adults or a young family of four. It has kitchen appliances, heat and a toilet to make camping easy in most island conditions. It is a three season rig and will keep you warm and dry most days of the year. There is always something to see and do here and low season has its benefits. Ask us for ideas when there is a high chance of rain! The westcoast can be beautiful even in the rain when the rivers and waterfalls are flowing and the mist and fog are rolling in over the ocean and up the hills. This rig is not suitable for the narrower and two track roads which can be dangerous, and is harder to heat on a cold winter day. What's includedBedding/towels

Meet your host, Rodger

My wife and I love travelling, exploring and camping, and our favourite getaways combine the two. Raising three kids we've owned many campers: poptop Volkswagen van, tiny tent trailer, 21ft motorhome, hybrid travel trailer, full-size truck camper and now an offroad truck camper. Each rig allowed us to explore with our family within our budget. We were able to see and experience new places, meet interesting people and make great family memories.

Q.How hard is it to pop the top up and take it down?
A.
It takes less than five minutes to undo the roof clamps and crank up the top. The crank is inside (out of the weather) and does take some strength to lift up. Taking it down is also less than five minutes. The crank almost rotates on its own and you have to take a minute to check outside and maybe tuck in the soft sides so it doesn't get pinched when closing.

Q.Is everything in the camper accessible when the top is down?
A.
Mostly. You can sit on the seats and access all cupboards and drawers and the fridge. The storage under the bed is not accessible.

Q.What flexibility is available for picking up and dropping off the RV?
A.
We are located a 5 minute drive from the Vancouver ferry and the Victoria airport. Pickup from these locations is free.
