Off Grid Camper
Off Grid Camper

Chasing the Crux (or Cece for short) is a brand new 2021 Taxa Mantis. This rig is made for the minimalist adventurer or that is not wanting a traditional camper, with a go almost anywhere capability. She's sassy, classy, and a little smashy! Additionally, see available add-ons for your adventure like two Onewheel Pints!
Cece boasts a thoughtful design around the choreography of life with adaptable spaces and multi-functions around every corner. These features include a collection of premium live-able accessories to make those long-haul trips as comfortable as you need them to be. From an integrated 12V electrical system, wet bath with a shower and cassette toilet, exterior shower, 20-gallon fresh water tank, furnace and hot water system, 8,000 BTU Air Conditioner, and a galley kitchen featuring a two burner stove and sink
Convert the full-sized bed to a dinette, drop the bunk system into a couch and create room for the whole family (and then some!) to kick back when the weather calls for indoor time. Add a hammock for sleeping up to 5.
Multi-use thinking went into the milk drawer system, which can easily be removed for effortless loading, unloading, and transferring items in and out for outdoor cooking.
There is ample storage on the roof rack for all your adventure gear by way of a Thule Roof Rack.
The shape is designed to travel efficiently at highway speeds. Taxa habitats are some of the lightest towable campers on the market for their size, capacity and features, requiring less vehicle power to tow.
And if it's your thing, Taxa supports sustainable manufacturing processes and materials.
Cece is like no other. For more information, Taxa's Manual (my personal one is coming soon!), and a 3D virtual tour visit Taxa's website.
Cece comes with a 2.7 cuft mini fridge, two 12v batteries, two 20 lbs propane tanks, 4" mattress topper for the full-size bed, 2" mattress toppers for the bunks, full cookware and eating utensils for 5+, and some staple spices and cooking oils.
Delivery and pickup within a 25 mile radius
With Cece's nimbleness and high ground clearance, she is perfect for exploring just about any campground and Parks, going off grid on BLM land, or just some boondocking.
Being a family of rock climbers, a couple of our favorites are City of Rocks National Preserve and Maple Canyon. She provides a little extra comfort than a tent so that you are refreshed each day to chase the crux!
Pets welcome!
No festivals or smoking.
The AC unit and mini fridge require at least a 2000W generator or shore power. A generator is available as an option add-on.

A fantastic camper for our family for southern Utah. Easy pick-up and drop-off. The host helped explain all the parts of the trailer, and included many extras that made our trip easier. Simple 'hacks' like a paper towel holder and bed curtains naturally fit our family's rhythm.

Thank you Patrick. It was my pleasure to support your adventure!

Derek was a great host. He was very communicative about pre trip planning and super helpful. The Mantis is really nice and has everything you need. Including some nice special touches like hot sauce, and a mattress topper. We took it for a week of winter camping in the desert with our toddler. We were all really warm and comfortable. If you are renting in winter make sure to include the solar panels. It was a wonderful adventure and Derek really made it easier for us. Thanks!

We had a great experience with derricks mantis trailer! It was very well stocked and extremely well organized. The trailer itself is incredibly user-friendly and slept two adults and a large teenager nicely.
