Provides exceptional support and guidance

Kevin provides extensive local recommendations for camping, hiking, and eats, responds quickly to communications, offers support for issues (e.g., replacing a dead battery), and accommodates scheduling needs like late pick-ups/drop-offs.

Smooth ride, good mileage

The Green Machine provides a smooth ride and gets a respectable 17mpg. It features a comfortable, easy-to-set-up rooftop tent, 4WD capability, a functional refrigerator, charging stations, and a complete kitchen setup with quality supplies for boondocking.

This truck is a gem, the host is a pro, and Alaska is meant to be seen this way. Every single place you reach in the rig, Kevin has sorted it out and made sure what you want is in there. Just throw in your perishables, activity gear, and sleeping supplies and go. Even loaded down, the truck returned a very respectable 17mpg. The ride is smooth and once you realize that everything is in its place, it gives you the confidence to relax and enjoy the trip because this truck does what a great truck does - it disappears into the background.

Kevin was super nice, giving great recommendations and allowing me to pickup the truck quite late on my embarkation day. The truck itself is a beast and super comfortable - the camping set up is so easy to use and the tent is much bigger than I would’ve thought. Overall such a great experience!

We had a great experience renting the "Green Machine" for our 9 day road trip in Alaska! This was our first time in Alaska and first time renting a vehicle through Outdoorsy - we have no regrets about either decision. While I'm a novice with this kind of rentals, I suspect Kevin is as good a host as they come. He was punctual for drop-off, helped orient us to the camping equipment, and he was responsive to all our communication throughout the trip. We had one brief issue with the car battery when we initially started the truck and Kevin was back to help within 10 minutes and purchased a replacement battery, too. This is above and beyond the kind of care and responsibility I expect from most landlords, let alone vehicle rental hosts. Thank you, Kevin! This rig was especially well set-up for boondocking (dispersed camping) throughout Alaska. We found great pull-offs in both the Kenai Peninsula and Parks Highway to/from Denali NP. The truck was well-equipped with quality supplies; flying to Anchorage limited the kinds of camping supplies we could bring but thankfully the truck had everything we needed to be comfortable (ex. lighter, dish soap, bear spray, etc.)

The truck was great. It made camping in Alaska an incredible adventure. I am so pleased with the rooftop tent; it was dry and comfortable. An adventure of a life time. Now I just need my very own Green Machine.

Kevin is a great host. Went out of his way to save our trip after our truck broke down. Would highly recommend Kevin and any of his vehicles at LLAL.
