Responsive, helpful, and caring
Hosts consistently provided fast, friendly, and reassuring communication, demonstrating care for guests and making the entire rental process effortless.
Smooth, confident, and easy to drive
The van is new, clean, well-equipped, and stocked. It offers a smooth driving experience. However, the bed is high and firm, with AC positioned above it, making sleeping challenging for some. The Yakima box also interferes with parking sensors.

3.0Generally, Captain Adventure is a really nice well-equipped van, and the hosts were very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, as an older couple, there were a couple things that caused us to cut our trip short due to sleep deprivation. Thus only 3/5 stars, but a younger nimbler couple may find it to be the best van ever. Below are our (3) main complaints: #1 The bed in very high and hard which made it difficult to sit up without hitting your head on the ceiling, and the AC unit is right above the bed which made it even more difficult. There is a pop top tent with another bed, but we found it cumbersome/difficult to access. #2 Due to the heat during our trip, we needed the AC at night to keep the van cool at night, but with it on, it was too loud and frigid to sleep with it so close to our head. And with it off, it was too warm to sleep. #3 The bed was so firm, we had to stop at a Walmart and purchase a 2" memory foam pad to make it barrable (3" would be better). The host said they had a mattress pad in the van, but it turned out to be a mattress cover with barely a 1/4" of "pad". Side notes: #1 The Hosts provide a Yakima box that attaches to the trailer hitch. This really complicates parking and confuses the backup camera/sensors. Every time we put it in reverse, the van would scream at us that we were about to back into something (very annoying). #2 the Hosts include camp chairs, and they were very nice and compact, but for us older folk, we didn't find them very comfortable, so consider bringing your own on your trip.
