2019 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter
This 2019 Sprinter's interior is handcrafted and completely unique. I’ve taken many extended trips, and loved the off-grid camping freedom and comfort of this larger vehicle. You'll be able to park in a normal length parking space, and enjoy quality sleep in a full-sized bed (70"x55"). All-terrain tires and high clearance will get you around Alaska with ease.I designed this van for maximum comfort with running water, a gas stove, a powerful diesel heater, and walnut counter space for meal prep. With 200 watts of solar and a 700 watt inverter, you'll be able to plug in household appliances that use less than 700 watts, even with the engine off.The cargo area includes a pull-out. sliding gear drawer with 2 low-profile bike mounts, plus many heavy duty hooks to keep your gear organized. Interior ski/board storage keeps your gear dry and secure. Please note:
I built the interior to handle Alaskan winters and desert summers. This means 2 inches of insulation in the floor and ceiling–still a person up to 6'2" will be able to stand comfortably inside, and a person up to 5'6" will be able to sleep fully extended in the bed.
This is a basic Sprinter–without cruise-control or a radio/speakers. I will include a Bluetooth speaker(s) to listen to media, using your own device.
I built the van myself, so if you encounter any issues while on your trip please call or send a text and I will be happy to help you.
What's includedMy van includes the linens package, cookware package and traction recovery package at no charge. For an additional fee I may be able to arrange to pick you up or leave the van for you at a nearby airport.RecommendationsThe van's warm walnut interior makes for a cozy roost from which to take in the Alaskan views. If you're looking for more adventure, the van is equipped with a full-extension mountain bike storage drawer, ski racks and a cavernous cargo area to maximize your gear storage! You'll be fully prepared for a short getaway or a big Alaskan adventure!Other things to noteInterested renters should keep in mind this is a dog-friendly van without a radio or speakers. I configured the bed to maximize living space so renters taller than 5'6" should be aware of the limitations of the 70" inch bed length. An error message points to the passenger airbag, but it is only related to the temporary disconnection of the wiring harness when I installed the swivel on the passenger seat. Alaska is tough on vehicles and this van's exterior shows some wear, including a crack in the windshield. If you are still interested in renting, I think you'll find this a perfectly cozy and charming Alaskan rig.

We're skiers, mountain bikers, climbers, whitewater boaters and sailors! We built this rig ourselves from an empty cargo van with the goal of fitting gear for all our favorite adventure sports in one place. One of our favorite trips in our van was a 4000 mile loop around the mountain west, stoping at hot springs, wild rivers, world class crack climbing destinations and some incredible backcountry skiing! Gus is super accommodating. Let him know your needs. If he can he will, if not he can point you to the right direction.
The van is clean, and comfortable. It got plenty compliments for Gus's craftsmanship. Drives real smooth, the stove was used everyday. Love waking up in all of our 10 different sleeps locations.

Gus was very responsive and friendly. Everything in the van worked perfectly as described. The bed was very comfortable and being able to sit on it, drink my morning coffee while reading with the rear doors open was my favorite part.

I took this Sprinter for 5 days 4 nights to a race track. It’s simple, straightforward, and worked great. Where I was got down to 37 at night and I quickly learned how to make it toasty! Only comment which others have made is that the bed is short for a tall person. I was alone (5-11) and I used the diagonal and it was fine.

Our first #vanlife experience and it was awesome! We took our Aussie Shepherd out for a full week. The bed is the most challenging since you cannot fully stretch out (I’m 5’7”, my SO is 6’1”, and of course, the dog (45lbs) wanted to be up there with us because it was cold. We were stuck for an hour because the key battery died but were able to figure that out - maybe change them more regularly so somebody else doesn’t have the same experience? Everything worked as it should, I do wish there was a radio - we used our own Bluetooth speaker to listen to tunes while driving. Plenty of space in the back for all of your gear, so don’t worry about that part. Another wish is to have better window covers in the front. We stayed at camp grounds to have bathrooms (and avoid tickets) which made the whole week pretty pricey since we are double paying for the van and the parking spot. I loved how the van was fully off the grid and did not require hookups. We are interested in getting our own van in the future! Thanks Gus!
