5.0We had the van for 7 days and it was truly a great way to travel. The surf hippo is well made, has lots of space and handles well on the road. The turning radius was amazing and the solar panels kept everything fully changed. Travis has thought of everything a camping couple could want. The bed was also very comfortable. We really enjoyed driving, eating, and sleeping in this camper van!

5.0This van was absolutely perfect for our Olympic Peninsula road trip. It had everything we needed down to the little details and we felt at home immediately. We loved our taste of van life and would rent from Travis again in a heartbeat! It was so easy to stop at viewpoint for lunch or roll into the campsite late without having to worry about unpacking anything. The water was quick to deal with and power was never a concern, even on some cloudy days. Driving was easy in highway traffic, on winding mountain roads, and in narrow campgrounds. There wasn’t anywhere we really wanted to go on this trip where we didn’t feel comfortable driving the van. Travis was great to rent from and built some really thoughtful touches into this van. It was a privilege to take on our little adventure!

5.0Travis is great. Excellent communication, advice, help, etc. The surf hippo is awesome. My fiancé and I took it out to Olympic National Park and camped at Kalaloch. The bed is comfy and the kitchen was great. I would definitely recommend it to anyone interested.

5.0We rented The Surf Hippo to explore Olympic National Park, and it was a fantastic experience from start to finish. The campervan was clean, comfortable, easy to operate, and thoughtfully equipped with everything we needed for our trip. There was plenty of storage, numerous electrical outlets, running water, a sink, oven/range, and all the essential cookware, dishes, pots, and pans. The van made it easy to explore Washington at our own pace and added a sense of adventure that we wouldn't have gotten from hotels or a traditional rental car. Travis was an excellent host. He was a great communicator throughout the process, provided a thorough walkthrough before departure, and patiently answered all of our questions. We felt confident operating the van and appreciated how responsive and helpful he was. If you're considering a campervan trip in Washington, I highly recommend The Surf Hippo. It was a memorable way to experience Olympic National Park and the Pacific Northwest.

4.0Personably, Travis is kind and communicative. Van is as described and served me well for my trip. Fun to have a taste of van life! Though I will not be booking with Outdoorsy again. The listed cost of $185 felt doable for me, but after all the service fees and costs I did not consider such as gas and milage fees, it was $700 for one night!! Ouch. Most expensive accommodation I have ever booked. Should have read more closely before booking. I take responsibility for that, but now I am feeling regret about the trip. Despite the van being very nice, would not book again for this cost!!!! Additionally, shortly before I left the host shared that check engine light was on, but not to worry about it. Though I did feel a little worried as I drove. On day 2 of driving the alert turned off, but felt a bit nerve wracking heading out with potential van concerns. On the way back it showed a message to get an oil change- would have felt more confident if these message did not pop up at all. Ultimately was not a problem- van worked well. But would have preferred if this had not come up.
