Recommendations• Everyone has different ideas of what makes a great trip whether it be off grid or deluxe camping. We suggest googling some spots you really want to visit and then see where the road takes you. It is recommended to book a campsite in Tofino and Uclulet as they are very busy in the high season. The island offers unbelievable scenery with amazing hikes from an easy stroll to day long adventures.. Download the app Alltrails and you will find every trail and hike on the island. There is a back roads map book in the van. Spend a day in Victoria if you have time as it is well worth it. Happy travels!Other things to noteThis is a manual or standard transmission so you must know how to drive one. Always remember to release your ebrake. The outside awning must be tired down or a wind will pick it up. Please fill up with gas and propane when returning. There is a gas station in Victoria on Hillside and Shelbourne that has a propane pump. They will fill for you.

We went camping for 7 nights, driving all over the island and having an incredible time. The van rental was a huge aspect of this. The solar power meant we never had to book a hookup spot in campsites and the battery size meant we could have lasted 3-4 days without any sun. Lucy (the van) comes equipped with everything we could have needed. Collection and drop off was relaxed and went smoothly. Lucy was a characterful and entertaining third member of our camping team!

Q.Do I need to have over 2 years driving a manual transmission?
A.
Yes as manual or standard transmissions are very different than an automatic transmission you must have a minimum of two years driving a standard or manual transmission. Learning how to work a clutch and knowing when to shift without over revving the engine is so important when driving one of these classic vehicles
