One of the benefits of renting through Outdoorsy is the opportunity to review renters. This is valuable to ensure all owners have a good experience by properly assessing prospective booking requests. Here are a few key things to consider when reviewing a renter. 
Owners and renters have 14 days after the rental period to submit a review. To access the review option, log in to your Outdoorsy dashboard and access the booking details for the associated reservation. The review option will be located at the top of the screen. From there, select a &#8220;star&#8221; rating for the other party, and add any additional comments regarding the overall experience. Once submitted, the star rating will display on the reviewed customers profile page. 
How can I ensure that renters leave a review after their reservation?
Renters aren’t require to leave a review, but you can certainly encourage one by talking about how important feedback (of all kinds) is to your business. Tell them you’re available for any questions they have on the road, and remind them when they return that they’ll be getting an email from Outdoorsy seeking reviews. Most important of all, thank them for choosing your rig. Gratitude goes a long way!
Responding to Renter Reviews
Owners can also reply to renter reviews in order to address or clarify any issues noted within a review. As an owner, you have to option to respond once to each customer review. 
To respond to a review, click on “edit profile” in your dashboard menu and select “My Reviews.” From “My Reviews,” simply reply to any reviews you have by selecting “Respond to Reviews.” Responding is not required. But if you choose to reply, address all issues that need clarification as you only have one reply and won’t be able to edit a reply once published.

How do I review a renter and respond to renter reviews?

Feels kind of like welcoming home a new baby, right? Lest you get too emotional, remember the task at hand. Reach out to the renter the day before their return date to confirm the drop-off time and location. Have a copy of your Rental Checkout List and <a href="https://d1p9472jke9yu3.cloudfront.net/documents/O_RV_Return_Checklist_2016.pdf">RV Return Form</a>, so you can make everything quick and painless. Do a thorough walkthrough and follow all of the instructions on the <a class="css-1rn59kg" title="https://d1p9472jke9yu3.cloudfront.net/documents/O_RV_Return_Checklist_2016.pdf" href="https://d1p9472jke9yu3.cloudfront.net/documents/O_RV_Return_Checklist_2016.pdf" data-renderer-mark="true">RV Return Form</a> before saying goodbye to your renters and kicking back in your RV. If there is damage or additional cleaning charges, note them on the return form and have your renter sign off so they’re aware of the charges they’ll incur.

My RV&#8217;s due to be returned today. How do I prepare?

Security deposits come in handy sometimes, right? Make sure you clearly communicate any overages to the renter and have them sign-off on the <a href="https://d1p9472jke9yu3.cloudfront.net/documents/O_RV_Return_Checklist_2016.pdf">RV Return Form</a> to acknowledge these charges. 
Log-in to your Outdoorsy dashboard, go to the reservation details and select “Manage Security Deposit”. Here, you’ll determine what portion of the deposit to return to the renter. For example, if you have a $1,000 security deposit and need to claim an additional $640 in charges and overages, you’ll input $360 to return to your renter.

The renter has additional charges because of overages and cleaning. How do I handle these?

This is one for the Outdoorsy support team. You’ll need documentation of all the additional charges, including the signed RV Return Form. Go to the applicable booking in your Outdoorsy account, select “Collect fees,” and claim the full security deposit. Then reach out to Outdoorsy support via phone, chat, or email and let them know that you have additional charges that are over the security deposit. 
Once they’ve determined the validity of the charges, they’ll charge the guest and the payment will post to your account.
Important 
Based on feedback from the Outdoorsy community, we recently updated the process for collecting additional fees and filing a claim.

<li> The security deposit will auto-release if no claim is filed after 7 days. No action is needed by the host.</li>
<li> If a claim is indicated within the 2-day timeframe, the security deposit will be retained for 30 days instead of 7.</li>

What if I need to charge more for overages beyond the amount of the security deposit?

First off, congrats on a successful rental. And, nicely done inspecting your vehicle for damage.
If you have no additional charges, such as extra miles or cleaning costs, and no need to file a claim, then there&#8217;s really just one thing left to do: write a review for your guest.
You can also send a private, post-trip message. Thank your guest for their business. Ask if anything could&#8217;ve been better and if they have any suggestions for you as a host. And, if you like, offer to host them again another time.
You can even save this message as a template. That allows you to reuse it for future guests.

Everything looks good. Do I need to do anything else to close out my rental?

<h3>When do my stay listings get unpublished?</h3>



You can unpublish your stay listing right now or block your calendar so that no further bookings can be made through Outdoorsy. Outdoorsy will unpublish your stay listings end of July 2024 automatically.

No, this will only affect listings that have been listed as a stay



<h3>What do I do when I have a booking for my Stay with a check-in date that departs after October 1st 2024</h3>



You will have to cancel the booking and rebook the guest if possible outside of Outdoorsy

You&#8217;ve booked an RV and are getting stoked for your camping vacation &#8211; hooray! Now, let&#8217;s say you want to change your payment method after you&#8217;ve booked your trip. No problemo. Depending on when your trip departs, different charges, like the security deposit, can occur at different times. As a result, you may want to update the payment method associated with your reservation. Here&#8217;s how to do that:

How do I update my payment method?

Roamly has partnered with Sensible to provide a product that allows you to purchase coverage for the duration of your trip and be able to receive a refund in the event of bad weather.



Available in the U.S. only, for all RVs, this additional Roamly Weather Coverage provides protection for your trip in the event of unexpected bad weather. Possible coverage is based on information from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).



For example, if it rains more than the amount quoted (based on the NOAA day-of-forecast), then Sensible will automatically provide a refund to you, based on the current weather at the location of your trip.



When you initially purchase coverage from Roamly Weather, you will see some basic information outlining your coverage and its parameters:



What to expect:



A forecasted &#8220;light rain&#8221; of 1.5 mm, or more, for 3+ hours will trigger the daily coverage. We&#8217;ll alert you if bad weather is on the horizon. Don&#8217;t worry, we&#8217;ll only text you if it&#8217;s important &#8211; aka you have money available. Light rain is when you walk outside, and the ground looks like it&#8217;s been raining, think small puddles. 



How&#8217;s the coverage triggered?



3 &#8211; 6 hours of rain = $51.93/day 6+ hours of rain = $103.86/day



This is just an example of what you&#8217;ll see when you consider purchasing coverage. The expected forecast, details, and amount of possible refunds.&nbsp;

You will also be able to purchase Weather Coverage after your booking is confirmed, from the Trips details page in your account.



Note! Roamly weather coverage can only be quoted and purchased for trips that are less than three months long.



<h3>Is Roamly Weather Coverage the same as Trip Protection?</h3>



No, Roamly Weather Coverage is a separate offering from both Trip Protection and Damage Protection.



<h3>How is the covered amount determined?</h3>



The covered amount is based on the total cost of your booking when coverage is purchased.&nbsp;



<h3>How long do I have to purchase coverage?</h3>



Roamly Weather Coverage is available for purchase up until the day before your trip begins. If your trip starts today, you will not be able to purchase coverage.&nbsp;



<h3>What happens if I change the dates of my trip?</h3>



Because coverage is based on a specific date range and forecast, if you change the dates of your trip then your Roamly Weather Coverage will be removed and need to be repurchased for your new trip dates.&nbsp;



<h3>Can I cancel my Weather Coverage?</h3>



You have 24 hours after the purchase of Roamly Weather Coverage to cancel it. After 24 hours have passed, then coverage will not be able to be removed without canceling the booking.&nbsp;



Note! If Roamly Weather Coverage is added within 14 days of your booking&#8217;s start date, then the option to remove the coverage will not be available.&nbsp;



<h3>What happens to my coverage if my booking is canceled?</h3>

What are Campgrounds on Outdoorsy

Every year, thousands of people converge on Nevada’s Black Rock Desert for the annual Burning Man festival. There, “artists, makers, and community organizers who co-create art, events, and local initiatives around the world” gather to celebrate and construct the sizeable—yet temporary—Black Rock City. Over the nine-day festival, the makeshift city is built, celebrations abound, the famous wooden statute is set ablaze, and then the city is disassembled.



While this can be an interesting way to spend your vacation, it can also wreak havoc on your RV. In all the excitement, some festival-goers may go a little too far and your property may get damaged or vandalized. More common, an ultra-fine dust gets kicked up in the wind and coats anything in sight.



<h2>Playa dust</h2>



The Black Rock Desert is the site of a long lost, prehistoric lake bed and the desert playa (or just ‘playa’) is the bottom of it. The playa dries out, cracks, and creates a unique, ultra-fine dust—playa dust—that the festival is often associated with. As you might imagine, this dust can get into even the cranniest of nooks.&nbsp;



Festival-goers try to beat the dust by taping air vents, seams, and windows. Some cover furniture with plastic and others even wax the outside of the RV. But, playa dust is sure to get in and when it does, it is difficult to clean from the interior and exterior of your RV. It can even damage your electrical and mechanical systems.



<h2>Insurance coverage</h2>



Because of the damage that playa dust can do to your RV and the increased risk of physical damage on the festival grounds, Burning Man remains an unauthorized festival in Outdoorsy’s terms of service. As a result, Outdoorsy insurance does not provide coverage for your RV on the festival grounds nor does it cover festival-related damage. That includes damage from playa dust to the interior, exterior, anything mechanical or electrical, or vandalism.



If your RV goes to Burning Man, Outdoorsy offers liability-only coverage to and from the festival to ensure your RV is road legal. But, if your RV is involved in a covered loss and your guest is at fault: your RV is not covered, only other peoples’ damaged property is covered. In addition, our liability-only coverage is provided at the state minimum level of coverage.



Outdoorsy’s Burning Man policy also means that our teams can only provide limited support in disputes you may have with your guest. In addition, if your guest is traveling from abroad, you will most likely be unable to collect on damages through small claims court. Candidly, if your RV goes to Burning Man, collecting for damages to your RV will be between you and your guest.



We understand that our Burning Man insurance policy may give you pause in accepting bookings headed for the festival. That’s okay! It’s your vehicle and you can do as you wish.
