We recently rented from Ryan on Outdoorsy his 4Runner, equipped with a car top tent, and the experience was fantastic from start to finish.
The 4Runner handled beautifully across all kinds of terrain—smooth highways, winding back roads, and even some rougher off-road patches. The ride was stable, comfortable, and had plenty of power for long climbs and mountain passes. The cargo space inside was more than enough for all our gear, which made organizing the trip stress-free.
The car top tent was the real highlight. Setting it up was surprisingly quick and easy, and once unfolded, it gave us a comfortable and elevated sleeping spot with incredible views each morning. Sleeping off the ground added peace of mind in terms of safety and dryness, and the ventilation made it comfortable even on warmer nights. Breaking it down in the morning was just as smooth, allowing us to hit the road without delays.
What stood out most was the convenience and flexibility. We could stop almost anywhere—whether at a campsite, trailhead, or scenic overlook—and have a cozy, reliable place to sleep within minutes. It turned the whole road trip into more of an adventure, since we weren’t tied down to traditional lodging and could be more spontaneous.
Overall, combining the rugged reliability of the 4Runner with the versatility of a car top tent made for one of the best road trips we’ve ever taken. I’d highly recommend this setup to anyone who enjoys exploring, camping, and having the freedom to go wherever the road (or trail) leads.

We had an awesome experience spending a week camping in Bertha! Chris was great to work with, provided videos of how to use everything in the van, and stocked it with everything we needed and more. We were traveling with our one year old and he provided a pac-n-play and thoughtful toys/snacks for our baby. The van drives really easy! We will definitely be recommending Bertha to our friends traveling to CO.

My wife and I flew into Denver from North Carolina where Erik met us right off the train only 15 minutes from the airport! After a 20-30 minute orientation on how to operate Trevor (Trevor is the RV) we were on our way to explore all of Colorado's beauty! Let me tell you Trevor did not disappoint, paved, dirt, gravel, bumps, rocks and potholes no matter what Trevor got us to our destination. At one point we were well over 12,000' elevation soaking in some mountain views! We had more than enough space for the two of us and all our luggage. I would recommend Stephanie, Erik and Trevor to anyone looking to take an RV road trip around Colorado and the surrounding states. Safe travels!
