How do refunds work?

From our Liability policy to our Comprehensive and Collision coverage, we’ve revolutionized insurance options to keep you covered when you rent with Outdoorsy.</p>



<p>Outdoorsy is the only peer-to-peer RV rental platform to provide commercial insurance for qualified guests and hosts renting on Outdoorsy when the host’s personal RV insurance would not apply.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">How does it work?</h2>



<p>Outdoorsy has partnered with Aviva and the Insurance Corporation of British Columbia (British Columbia only) to ensure the safety of our guests and hosts for qualified vehicles. Please note that any motorized unit or trailer with a salvage or rebuilt title history does not qualify for coverage. If the vehicle does not qualify for coverage, hosts can ask their guests to obtain an insurance binder from a third-party insurance company for securing Liability insurance.</p>



<p>Guests can choose between three levels of protection packages, which feature tiered deductibles. The guest is responsible for these deductibles, which can range from CAD $500 to CAD $1,500 for Liability and Comprehensive and Collision coverages in the event of a damage claim.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">When does Outdoorsy’s coverage begin and end?</h2>



<p>Outdoorsy offers <em>episodic insurance,</em> meaning that coverage lasts for the duration of the rental period that the guest books on our platform.</p>



<p>Coverage for guests goes into force when you hand the keys to an approved driver at the start of the approved booking dates and ends when that driver hands you the keys back at the end of the rental period or drops the vehicle and keys off at an agreed location.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">What steps should be taken to be protected?</h2>



<p>Hosts should ensure that the booking shows coverage is in place prior to each booking, that required pre- and post-trip photos are taken, and that keys are handed to a verified driver.&nbsp; During the booking process, guests will be asked for payment information, driver’s license information, and, in some cases, more background information so we can <a href="https://www.outdoorsy.com/help/how-to-become-a-verified-driver">verify that you meet our eligibility and protection requirements</a>. In most cases, the driver verification process is quick and easy. When you pass your driver verification and any additional background verification steps that are required, your protection will be activated and you will be covered from the moment you pick up the keys to the RV.&nbsp;</p>



<p>Outdoorsy’s Protection Packages cover vehicles for travel into the United States, but please confirm directly with the host before taking the vehicle across the border, as they will always have the final say on whether or not this is allowed. Our protection does not cover rentals that travel into Mexico.</p>



<h4 class="wp-block-heading">As the host, will my personal RV insurance cover me during the rental period?</h4>



<p>Your personal policy will cover your vehicle for your personal use but usually does not apply when your vehicle is being rented out. If they learn that you are renting, they might deny your claims or even drop your coverage entirely.&nbsp;</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">What happens if the vehicle gets damaged during a rental?</h2>



<p>The road is a wonderful place to be, but every once in a while there are bumps along the way. As hard as we fight against this, there’s always that small chance that damage is caused to the vehicle.</p>

If the potential winner fails to respond to the email within 7 days or is found to be, in Outdoorsy’s sole discretion, ineligible or in violation of these Official Rules, such potential winner and his/her entry will be disqualified, and an alternate winner will be selected from all remaining eligible entries. Outdoorsy may request paperwork that the potential winner will be required to complete in order to be awarded the prize (including, but not limited to, a publicity release, tax documentation, drivers license information, evidence of insurability, and/or liability release). <p>If the potential winner is 21-24 years of age, the rental vehicle will be limited to what is available for that age bracket on Outdoorsy.com. <p>The prizes are awarded “as is” with no warranty or guarantee, either express or implied. The right to receive the prize is not transferable, assignable, and no substitutions or cash equivalents are permitted except at Outdoorsy’s sole discretion or as otherwise provided herein.</p>



<p>Outdoorsy reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to substitute a prize (or a portion of the prize) of equal or greater value for any reason. Outdoorsy will not replace the prize if it is lost or stolen. Any and all prize-related expenses, including without limitation any and all federal, state, and local taxes, shall be the sole responsibility of the winner. By accepting the prize, the winner grants its permission for Outdoorsy to use the winner’s name, social media pseudonym and city and state for purposes of advertising and trade without further consent or compensation, unless prohibited by law.</p>



<p>Outdoorsy makes no representations or warranties whatsoever as to the ability to use the prize or to book and rent any particular vehicle or stay listed on the Outdoorsy.com platform. A winner making a booking on the Outdoorsy.com platform agrees that additional criteria may be imposed by the listed vehicle’s or stay’s owner. If the booking value exceeds the credited amount, then the winner will be solely and completely responsible for covering the booking expenses beyond the prize amount. Such booking must purchase the maximum available insurance coverage offered through the Outdoorsy.com booking platform. Outdoorsy will not be responsible for covering additional trip costs on and/or off platform, including but not limited to, mileage overage fees, gas, campground reservations, airfare or any other costs and expenses. All bookings on the Outdoorsy.com platform must fully comply with the terms and conditions and other policies therein.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Winner selection and notification:</strong></h3>



<p>As described in “How to Enter,” winners will be selected at the end of the Contest Period. The winners will be notified via email addresses provided on the submission. In order to receive the prize, the potential winner must return email communications with Outdoorsy’s team to set the delivery conditions of the prize. If the potential winner fails to respond to the email within 7 days or is found to be, in Outdoorsy’s sole discretion, ineligible or in violation of these Official Rules, such potential winner and his/her entry will be disqualified, and an alternate winner will be selected from all remaining eligible entries. Outdoorsy may request paperwork that the potential winner will be required to complete in order to be awarded the prize (including, but not limited to, a publicity release, tax documentation, drivers license information, evidence of insurability, and/or liability release). The failure to do so will render the potential winner ineligible.</p>



<p>If the potential winner is under the age of 25, they will need to be accompanied on their reward trip by a verified driver (verified in Outdoorsy’s sole discretion) over the age of 25 who will be responsible for being the driver of the vehicle during the rental period and who will be legally responsible for compliance with all terms and conditions related to accepting and using the prize, including the provision of paperwork and the releases and indemnifications described in these Official Rules. The prizes will be available for redemption until December 31, 2026. The receipt of the prize offered in this Contest by the potential winner is conditional upon compliance with these Official Rules and any and all applicable federal and state laws and regulations.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>General Terms:</strong></h3>



<p>Decisions made by Outdoorsy are final and binding in all matters, including interpretation of these Official Rules and awarding of the prizes. Entrants assume all risk of loss, damage, destruction, delay, or misdirection of Contest materials submitted to Outdoorsy. Outdoorsy reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to cancel, terminate, modify, or suspend the Contest, or any part of it, if any virus, bugs, other technical failures, non-authorized human intervention, fraud, or any other causes beyond Outdoorsy’s control impair the administration, security, integrity, or proper functioning of the Contest, as determined by Outdoorsy in its sole discretion. Outdoorsy in its sole discretion reserves the right to disqualify any entrant it finds to be tampering with or attempting to tamper with the entry process or the operation of the Contest or to be acting in violation of these Official Rules. Any attempt by an entrant to deliberately damage or undermine the legitimate operation of the Contest may be a violation of criminal and civil laws, and, should such an attempt be made, Outdoorsy reserves the right to seek damages from such persons to the fullest extent permitted by law. Outdoorsy’s failure to enforce any term of these Official Rules shall not constitute a waiver of that term.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Release and indemnification:</strong></h3>



<p>By participating in the Contest, you agree to release from liability and hold harmless Outdoorsy and its parent company, affiliates, and related companies, and each of their respective officers, directors, and employees and agents (collectively, the “Released Parties”) from and against any claim or cause of action, including, but not limited to, personal injury, death, or damage to or loss of property, arising out of participation in the Contest or the receipt or use or misuse of any prize, or from any trip booked or taken using the prize. Entrants agree to indemnify the Released Parties and any other companies associated with the Contest, including any vendors or marketing agencies, and any third parties who have provided prizing. The indemnity covers all claims made not only by potential winners, but also by anyone participating in the Contest. The indemnity covers both claims arising out of the Contest itself, and claims arising from any use of the prizes.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Limitation of Liability:</strong></h3>



<p>Outdoorsy is not responsible for: (1) any incorrect or inaccurate information, whether caused by entrant, printing errors, or any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the Contest; (2) technical failures of any kind, including, but not limited to, malfunctions, delays, interruptions, or disconnections in phone lines or network hardware or software; (3) technical or human error which may occur in the administration of the Contest or the processing of entries; (4) late, lost, undeliverable, damaged, stolen, misdirected, or postage-due entries; or (5) any injury or damage to persons or property which may be caused, directly or indirectly, in whole or in part, by entrant’s participation in the Contest or receipt or use or misuse of any prize, or from any trip booked or taken using the prize. This includes such failures that might result in more winners than planned are issued.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Disputes:</strong></h3>



<p>This Contest is governed by the laws of the United States and State of Texas without respect to conflict of law doctrines. As a condition of participating in this Contest, entrant agrees that any and all causes of action arising out of or connected with this Contest, shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action, exclusively and solely before a state or federal court located in Austin, Texas. Further, under no circumstances will entrant be permitted to obtain awards for, and entrant hereby waives all rights to claim, punitive, incidental, or consequential damages, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, and entrant further waives all rights to have damages multiplied or increased.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Social Media Content Usage:</strong></h3>



<p>Winners are encouraged to share photos and videos from their prize experience on social media. By posting content related to this giveaway and tagging participating brands, winners grant Outdoorsy, BarkBox, Sniffspot, Wilderdog and brand partners non-exclusive rights to repost, share, and feature such content across their respective social media platforms and marketing materials.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Privacy Policy:</strong></h3>



<p>Information submitted with an online entry is subject to the Privacy Policy stated on Outdoorsy’s website. Notwithstanding the foregoing, participants grant Outdoorsy the right to share your name and email address with with our participating partners.</p>

Depending on when your trip departs, different charges, like the security deposit, can occur at different times. <br><br>As a result, you may want to update the payment method associated with your reservation. Here’s how to do that:</p>

How do I update my payment method?

<p>Roamly has partnered with Sensible to provide a product that allows you to purchase coverage for the duration of your trip and be able to receive a refund in the event of bad weather.</p>



<p>Available in the U.S. only, for all RVs, this additional Roamly Weather Coverage provides protection for your trip in the event of unexpected bad weather. Possible coverage is based on information from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).</p>



<p>For example, if it rains more than the amount quoted (based on the NOAA day-of-forecast), then Sensible will automatically provide a refund to you, based on the current weather at the location of your trip.</p>



<p>When you initially purchase coverage from Roamly Weather, you will see some basic information outlining your coverage and its parameters:</p>



<p><strong><em>What to expect:</em></strong></p>



<p><em>A forecasted “light rain” of 1.5 mm, or more, for 3+ hours will trigger the daily coverage. We’ll alert you if bad weather is on the horizon. Don’t worry, we’ll only text you if it’s important – aka you have money available.          Light rain is when you walk outside, and the ground looks like it’s been raining, think small puddles. </em></p>



<p><strong><em>How’s the coverage triggered?</em></strong></p>



<p><em>3 – 6 hours of rain = $51.93/day                                                                                                                                               6+ hours of rain = $103.86/day</em></p>



<p>This is just an example of what you’ll see when you consider purchasing coverage. The expected forecast, details, and amount of possible refunds.&nbsp;</p>



<p>If the weather during your trip is considerably worse than anticipated, based on the previous NOAA forecast, Sensible will notify you via text message and issue reimbursement automatically!</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>How do I purchase Roamly Weather Coverage?</strong></h3>



<p>Weather Coverage is offered when you make your reservation online for any stationary RV bookings where the RV is delivered and set up at a destination, or for campsite bookings, because the service requires an address to calculate the coverage.</p>



<p>You will also be able to purchase Weather Coverage after your booking is confirmed, from the Trips details page in your account.</p>



<p><strong>Note!</strong> Roamly weather coverage can only be quoted and purchased for trips that are less than three months long.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Is Roamly Weather Coverage the same as Trip Protection?</strong></h3>



<p>No, Roamly Weather Coverage is a separate offering from both Trip Protection and Damage Protection.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>How is the covered amount determined?</strong></h3>



<p>The covered amount is based on the total cost of your booking when coverage is purchased.&nbsp;</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>How long do I have to purchase coverage?</strong></h3>



<p>Roamly Weather Coverage is available for purchase up until the day before your trip begins. If your trip starts today, you will not be able to purchase coverage.&nbsp;</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>What happens if I change the dates of my trip?</strong></h3>



<p>Because coverage is based on a specific date range and forecast, if you change the dates of your trip then your Roamly Weather Coverage will be removed and need to be repurchased for your new trip dates.&nbsp;</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Can I cancel my Weather Coverage?</strong></h3>



<p>You have 24 hours after the purchase of Roamly Weather Coverage to cancel it. After 24 hours have passed, then coverage will not be able to be removed without canceling the booking.&nbsp;</p>



<p><strong>Note!</strong> If Roamly Weather Coverage is added within 14 days of your booking’s start date, then the option to remove the coverage will not be available.&nbsp;</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>What happens to my coverage if my booking is canceled?</strong></h3>



<p>If the booking is canceled prior to departure, then the entire cost of Roamly Weather Coverage will be refunded to you.&nbsp;</p>



<p><strong>Note!</strong> If the booking is canceled on, or after, departure then Roamly Weather Coverage will be nonrefundable.&nbsp;</p>
