The awning was gone and we were not informed of that until I went to use it for shade and realized why the arms were zip tied shut. We should have been informed of this as soon as possible. Someone brought and set up a canopy but didn't secure it to the ground. When we came back one of the legs was against my wife's car because of the breeze. Luckily no damage occurred.
Issues with the RV: There were not enough blankets for the 4 people who were staying in the RV. The AC unit in the master bedroom was so loud and it was either on or off...so the options were quite and warm or loud and comfortable. The hot water would work for about 2 mins then go cold for 2 mins...this repeated until the shower was done.
Also, the stationary insurance charge that cant be waived....and then is also included in the taxable amount is not right. Money grab....
I guess this is now the new standard of service when only 4 companies are allowed to service Fort Wilderness. I also plan on letting Disney know of our experience as well.
My history..We have owned 2 travel trailers for over 20 years combined as well as been renting RVs for Fort Wilderness 4-5 times a year for the past 5 years.

Absolutely fantastic! They helped us out in a bind and made a family memory we will never forget. They are easy going, no fuss and keep a very clean unit. They are pet friendly and that tells you the kind of people they are. They are genuine and kind and really want to help. A family run business.

The camper was much better than previous rental campers. The awning did not work when they set it up but they were very professional and got it fixed before the end of the day. I could not get the oven to work, but that may have been me. The age of the camper could be seen in the details, but it was clean and had no weird smells. Overall this was a vast improvement from my previous experiences with another company.

This is my second experience with Escape RV, while my first experience was a five, this experience was a three because of many many issues with the RV. We rented the Rex, and overall just found the RV to be poorly and cheaply constructed. Our first experience, we stayed in the Merida, which Was an exceptional experience! Almost daily for this trip I contacted Escape RV and overall had good communication, but our issues were not readily resolved. The first RV repair man found a construction issue with a screw being drilled into a wire, and while this is not your fault, this created some issues which impacted the use of the amenities of the RV. The main TV in the living room only worked the day that we arrived and did not work the rest of the time we were there. I believe four days in a row we had to have somebody come out and try to mitigate numerous issues. Of many reasons I wanted the Rex was for the glow of the fireplace light - and after it was looked at 2 to 3 different times it never did work. So we were without an indoor television, the fireplace, and with having to contact you folks numerous times, it impacted our trip in a negative way. Our first trip was great so I am not veered away from renting from you folks, but this experience was just very substandard. You offer some wonderful RV and travel trailer options which are clean and nicely stocked, but the Rex needs to be taken out of service and looked at from head to toe to mitigate these problems for future customers. I would greatly appreciate consideration in a discount on this trip for the above reasons.

The RV was as expected, cozy and clean. However, the refrigerator did not work. Someone came out to service the fridge, it still did not work and they were not able to get another fridge until the day we checked out. We had to keep our food in coolers outside and continuously buy ice. I understand this was something they could not control but the company didn’t offer a partial refund for this. Additionally on Day 2 of our stay, the outlets on one side of the RV stopped working (both inside and outside). A tech came by and could not fix it. We rented the RV with the hopes of cooking outside only to learn the outside kitchen wasn’t working because it was missing a part. Something that was not disclosed to us prior to arrival. After this experience, I feel the company could improve on costumer service, especially being one of the few companies approved by Disney to provide RV rentals in Fort Wilderness.

The RV needs some maintenance. Drawers open or won’t open, the step in was wonky, and some lights would not go on. Reasonable deal on price but a little more for a better maintained vehicle would have been worth it.
