About Adam Trapani

Hi there! We're Jaysi and Adam. Though we both have roots in Colorado, we met in Nashville a few years back and struck up a friendship that started as traveling companions. Since then we have gotten married, started a family, moved back to Colorado and done extensive travel in our amazing retro camper, including a 5-month trip through the southern half of the US, where we hiked, biked, kayaked, and relaxed our way through some of the lesser-known wilderness gems of the states.

This was an amazing rental and road trip vacation through Colorado, Utah, Arizona, and New Mexico. Adam and Jaysi were super helpful to my wife and I as van-life newbies with great communication, flexibility, and even recommended travel tips as our plans needed modified due to weather. We would 100% rent from them again!

Adam’s answer

Thanks so much, Nate! We’re glad you and Alyssa went for it, despite the weather. Please holler next time you want to head out!

Great van, even better host! The water and propane tanks were both more than large enough. The generator worked reliably, the van came with everything we could need. One note just to be aware of, the furnace is under the bed so plan to bring lighter wear for sleeping if running the furnace overnight. The van drove well, had creature comforts like CarPlay, etc. Adam was a wonderful host, really accommodating and incredibly responsive to all questions or comments.

Adam’s answer

Thanks for the kind words, Kyle! Glad you two had such a great trip. And yes, the furnace is a beast! Great advice.

This van is AMAZING, exactly as advertised... was so fun to drive and was the perfect home base for our camping trip to Grand Teton & Yellowstone National Parks. We loved the campervan experience and Adam was so accommodating and helpful throughout the rental process.

Adam’s answer

Thank you, Jessica! So glad you guys had a good trip!

Adam and Jayci are great hosts. They make themselves available as much as possible for any questions, but Adam's pretty thorough Thor manual and videos answer just about all of the questions you might have in terms of operations of the many functions that Thor handles with ease. Solar, generator, propane, furnace, hook-ups, shower, stove, toilet -- Thor's got it all...

Adam’s answer

Thanks, Anthony! We hope you and Kim make it back out here again!

Adam was fantastic and while we found it was not quite big enough for us and our 90 lb rescue mutt Chloe, we still give it 5 stars. The videos were so incredibly helpful! Loved having a toilet that was so easy to use and empty and the A/C was glorious! The only negative was that the screen doesn't fit and so bugs were an issue, but Adam said it is a warranty issues he's addressing with the manufacturer.

Adam’s answer

Thanks for the feedback, Susan! Yes, it’s definitely good for renters to know what they’re getting into size-wise when renting a camper van!

If you are searching for a van to rent, stop searching, This Is The One! I
have been renting vans for a while and this one spoiled us immensely. There
are so many compliments I could write about but don’t have enough space. If
you are a first-time van traveler and maybe a little intimidated, this van
was the easiest to work with. The couple that owns Bernie the van has
thought of everything. Prior to pickup, information is sent over to review
and then an orientation on pick up. Don’t worry about information overload;
there is an Ipad with videos for every question that might arise. Solar
power, generator, hottest showers, retractable awning, a screen to enjoy
the fresh air, and all the comforts of home- van style. Large mirrors, a rear
camera (that runs while driving if you like), turns on a dime and gets
great gas mileage make this van on another level. We went to the Rocky
Mountains NP in style and had such a great trip. I will definitely return
and this van will be joining me again. Give this van a chance, you will not
be disappointed. The worst part of our trip was having to return it. Safe
travels…

We had a great time with this van! We camped down south in Canon City for the weekend with 2 dogs and had plenty of room. The van has all of the features you could need. Easy to drive, easy to use, lots of space, and great amenities (awning, fridge, toilet, etc). Adam was very responsive, and very thorough in his orientation with us- we didn't have any questions/problems all weekend. For first time van renters- keep in mind the amount of water you go through, prepare for it to get dirty easily, and keep in mind the low clearance. Overall, we had a great time and would rent again!

Adam’s answer

Thanks for the kind words, Brittany! We’re glad you and Matt had a great time. Let us know the next time you’re looking to get away!

We rented this camper/van for a 4 night visit to Moab, UT, from our location here in CO. We were pleasantly surprised to see that it is practically brand new and spotless. The owners, Adam and Jaycee were extremely helpful and Adam communicated with us before the trip regarding our destination which would be a warm enough place that the van could be de-winterized, with water in the tank for use in the sink and bathroom. Moab was a perfect choice for April. The van was so easy to drive and visibility was not a problem. It handled extremely well through the Rockies, even with some blowing snow and ice through the passes. Our favorite thing about this RV was how easy it was to drive, maneuver into parking spots (regular sized spaces) and the ease of take down and set up. This worked well for us coming and going from our campsite to the National Parks. We used the site's electricity and water, so did not need to use the generator (although it worked well) or water pump. We were also pleasantly surprised at the comfort of the pull- out bed. In past experiences with camping, waking up with a sore back was a major downside, but this mattress really was a good quality. Size-wize, it's basically a full size, and we found that bringing our own bedding created a better combined sleeping area for us, with the sleeping bags as blankets. Since we are very inexperienced at camping or RVing, we were not used to how tight the space in the back of the van can feel. The first night it felt like so much work to move everything from one side of the van to the other, in order to pull out the bed. Once the bed is pulled out, there is no floor space, so access to the bathroom is to scoot across the bed. By the second night, we had more of a system for storing things ( Adam told us, "it's like a puzzle") like privacy drapes, cushions and bedding, and it was much less of a chore. The teamwork of moving things back and forth actually became one of the things that we enjoyed the most by the end of the trip. We only used the toilet in the bathroom, and that was super easy. There is a cartridge shaped like a suitcase that is the "black tank" from the toilet, and it was easy to empty into the dump site at the end of our stay. The "gray tank" was also very easy to empty. Other positives were the size of the refrigerator/freezer and how cold it kept everything (better than our beverage fridge at home!) and the bike rack, which was also easy to use. It kept our bikes secure and was a good height for getting them on and off. Adam also has a very organized system for instructions for the various systems in the van with short videos on an Ipad as well as a binder for reminders on how to start things like the water heater, generator and even how to restack the camping pots and pans into one stack. Since it's a lot to take in and remember on the initial walk-through, we found the videos very helpful as reminders on all the How-to's of using a camper/van. The negatives of the experience had to do with some malfunctions of some of the propane systems. The stovetop did not work during our trip, although it had when Adam checked it the day before. He was extremely helpful and answered our texts about it right away, and offered tech support as well as his time to help problem solve. However, we decided to just not use the stove rather than spend the time trying to resolve the issue, as we only had a few days to do our adventuring! Adam had offered us the extra storage attachment for the back of the van, but we did not use it. Because there is so little storage in the van (for clothes, for example), I would probably use it next time. All in all, this is a great RV, and being so new, I think there may be a few kinks to work out, as with the stovetop. The owners were wonderful to work with and communicated extremely well throughout the process. I highly recommend this rental!

Adam’s answer

Thanks, Susan! It was great to meet you and Alan and we're glad you enjoyed your trip! Sorry again about the malfunctioning stovetop. We have ordered a replacement part for it, so it should no longer be an issue.

Adam's van was fantastic! We rented this van for a quick getaway to the Pagosa Springs area and renting this van was the best part of the trip. I'm 6'3'' and was a little unsure if the bed would fit my wife and I, but it wasn't an issue at all. We both slept comfortably with plenty of room to move around! The stove top is nicer than the one in our house, and the drawer/cabinet setup made it so we could safely stash all our things while in motion. We were very grateful for the heating system, as night temps were pretty low during our trip. We ran the heat on full blast from about 5-9 p.m. for 2 nights, but never needed the generator. The electronic interface was intuitive and there were plenty of outlets/USB charging docs. The van was a dream to drive - it handled well and was easy to park. We didn't use the shower, but could easily imagine how wonderful it would be after a long day in the outdoors. It was impeccably clean, and Adam was very helpful/quick to respond to our questions. We highly recommend renting this van - you won't regret it!
