About Eddie Ford

Hello! My name is Eddie Ford. I am married to my lovely wife, Jane, and have 2 awesome kids, Stella and Knox. We also have 2 dogs, Petri and Beaker. I am a former teacher/coach that loves family vacations. We like to go all over the United States every chance we get! I have been around and used RV's my entire life! Growing up, I would go camping in our RV with my family all the time. We went to as many state parks in Texas that we could. When I got a little older, I would tailgate with my family and our RV every weekend. We are all huge Texas Longhorn Football fans and go to the games every chance we get (Hook 'Em!). Now, I love to go on family vacations with my wife and 2 kids and explore as much as we can. I hope that I am able to provide all these enjoyable experiences I had in a RV from my life at an affordable price. My goal is to make the experience as fun and easy as I can for the first time RV user to the most experience veteran RV user! To do this, I provide not only a detailed walk through, but detailed instructions as well as QR links with detailed video demonstrations. Hope you have an amazing time! -Eddie

Eddie was great. He explained everything about the RV and provided a thorough walk thru. This was the first time that this RV had been rented and it performed very well. The bed is very comfortable and while the trailer is not large, it was perfect for our needs.

Eddie is a great communicator and the RV was perfect for our needs. 2 adults, 3 kids and a small dog was a tight squeeze but honestly fine for our needs for a long weekend in Big Bend. Would not hesitate to rent from Eddie again.

Absolutely word class experience from start to finish. Easy checkin process, outstanding on boarding education experience to the vehicle, and fully equipped experience for a person arriving with limited to no equipment. I will be back again given the 5 star experience.

Good things: the owner was patient in explaining things to people who are new to RV and he very reachable during the trip.
Bad things: we had an incident involved breaking of glasses, there was not enough warning signs in place for safety hazard. I didn't feel the customer service was good enough. They lack sympathy and thinking from the customer's perspective. As a customer I feel the rental experience was inconvenient and expensive. I feel I learned lessons by paying some extra money.

During the walkthrough, the renter was told to make sure to remove the glass before cooking on the stove. I mentioned it was common sense, and his response was to laugh and say "I know". There is also numerous manufacturer warnings through out the RV, including a side to side warning sticker on the glass itself saying "CAUTION: PLEASE REMOVE GLASS BEFORE LIGHTING!" The renter mentioned it happened in the morning when he was still half asleep and not paying any attention as shown in the messages. He then became upset as he had to pay to replace the glass he broke. Renter inttially accepted responsibility until it came time to pay for his damages.

For a first time RV'er, Eddie made the rental process from start to finish a breeze. His walk-thru was thorough, with ample time for me to ask many questions and went above and beyond to ease my concerns about not having use of the rearview mirror. Showed me how to leave on the backup camera while driving and that made things much easier. The side cameras were great to have to help with blind spots and parking. The Sealy mattress was a big hit and we slept soundly. We did have a check engine light come on during the trip. Eddie replied right away to my text and did some remote diagnostics to figure out that it was some 5V sensor so nothing that prevented us to continue our vacation. He did ask me to check all the lights/signals worked properly just to be sure we were good to go. The piece of mind this remote diagnosis gave me was invaluable and the near immediate responses from Eddie definitely ensures we will rent from him again. Thank you!!

Trip was 4 hrs longer due to speed i had to drive....never thought about that.....but driving 70 all the way when the limit was 75 to 85 left a long drive each way 2hrs........shower leaked.....tried my best to keep it moped up.......gas in WH was down for a bit.....cutting it on was a challenge for a bit

I am not sure why the renter chose to give a 3 star review as I went above and beyond for the renter. The rental was a last second rental as his previous rental cancelled on him, but I accepted the rental as I like to help people in need as much as I can. He requested delivery over an hour away from my location and I agreed to help him out. Once there, the renter informed me he needed towing, despite saying otherwise multiple times in my pre-screening questions (I charge a fee for towing). I lock my hitches unless people request towing, so I needed to drive over an hour back to my shop and another hour back to his house to retrieve the key and unlock the hitch, but agreed to as I want to make sure my renters have everything they need. The renter also was very aware of my speed rules. I post my rules on my listing page, state them multiple times during the walk through, and have the renter print, sign, and date on the rules for agreement. I do not condone speeding in my RV and ask that renters obey the speed limit laws and not drive over 70 to protect my investment and prevent accidents. I am sorry your trip took a little longer by driving the speed limits, but driving safely is important to keep both the driver and my RV safe.

We are experienced campers and travel often. We know new RVs take time to break in. The van is not broken in yet and has issues. Eddie will not take responsibility for those but wants to blame the renter.
We returned the rig in a cleaner condition than we took it. There we dings on the rig not documented that we had to point out. The windows and mirrors were spotted so we had to clean before we drove. The floors had dusty foot prints. We did not make any issue of this before we took it as we know it’s hard to make spotless however when we returned it we endured ever window, surface, floor was washed.
The water heater worked after a day and half. It stopped working and we explained that to Eddie. We worked with him
To now avail. His only explanation is it’s your fault and no concession made.
It’s a shame as we travel often and have 5 star ratings on other sites. We are both business people and know what it means to meet your customer. Eddie does not do this.

***Owner's Beware***
This renter was looking for any way she could for a discount. I personally clean and inspect every RV before it goes out. This RV was spotless and I have pictures to back this up as required by outdoorsy. They even mentioned upon return how great of a time they had and it would be 5 stars if I gave them concessions on the overages (documented in outdoorsy messages). Upon return, there was cleaning that was needed for my standards. The renter did not like this. The water heater is new and worked great when the renter had it. They even mentioned upon return how it worked great for 2 days. Upon inspection, the renter burnt the water heater out after running it longer than what is mentioned during the walkthrough. I did not charge for the cleaning or to replace the water heater they burnt out, but this was not enough to satisfy her. I was then threatened with a bad rating instead of a 5 star if I did not provide more.

Eddie was awesome from start to finish. He contacted me within minutes of when I made the reservation. It was my first time to rent an RV and so I had many questions over a period of weeks prior to the rental. In every instance, Eddie responded almost immediately and answered all my questions. His professionalism and customer service were truly outstanding. I'll definitely contact him again when the need arises in the future.
