About fred holt

Tara and Fred are an adventurous couple who reside in the beautiful city of Golden, Colorado. They share a love for the great outdoors and have a two-year-old son, who is already showing signs of becoming an adventurous spirit, just like his parents. Tara and Fred are avid backpackers and can often be found exploring the Rocky Mountains and other stunning wilderness areas around the state. They also enjoy boondocking and dry camping, embracing the freedom of living off the grid and away from the hustle and bustle of daily life. In addition to backpacking and camping, Tara and Fred are passionate about sailing and frequently take their boat out on the waters of Lake Dillon. They enjoy the peacefulness and tranquility that comes with being out on the water, and love the challenge of navigating the winds and currents. Tara and Fred are also aspiring rock climbers, and often spend weekends scaling the cliffs and boulders around Golden and beyond. They enjoy the physical and mental challenge of climbing, as well as the sense of accomplishment that comes with reaching the top of a difficult route.

Fred was wonderful to work with and the trailer was perfect for dry camping with our family of 4.

First thing Fred is a fantastic owner everything you want - responsive, understanding, and reasonable. Just to frame this review, my family of four is a tent camp family and mainly over night river camping used to minimal gear and few amenities- this was our first RV experience- the amenities were a luxury and we camped in some very remote areas where bears were very active so the safety of sleeping in a camper was great. Just a few tips for others to make your trip better based on our mistakes. First change your mindset for what a good camp looks like - make sure the camper is full sun for the solar to work at peak. Manage your water usage it’s goes faster than you think, manage your trip time as towing, set up and break down take more time versus tent camping. Last thing look for developed campsites versus dispersed it will make your overall experience easier and more enjoyable as dispersed camping (unless a huge open area) doesn’t have the room to set up the camper with the needed level ground
