To Whom It May Concern,I am writing to express my deep disappointment and serious concerns regarding the RV rental my family and I recently booked through outdoorsy. From the very beginning, this experience was nothing short of a nightmare. The listing explicitly stated that 4 hours of generator usage per day were included, but once we began our 37-hour drive from Virginia to Colorado, we discovered the generator was completely nonfunctional. This left us with no air conditioning the entire way—an unacceptable situation made exponentially worse by the fact that we were traveling with my 80-year-old mother, who has dementia and relies on a walker for mobility. The RV itself was not cleaned properly, and we encountered significant safety and maintenance issues almost immediately. During a period of heavy rain, water began leaking through the exhaust vent above the bed located over the driver’s compartment, putting our belongings—and more importantly, our health and safety—at risk.Shortly after arriving in Colorado, the check engine light came on, and I was told a repairman would come to our campground to assess and address the issues. That never happened. Instead, you, the owner informed me that the RV would not be repaired until after we returned from our trip. This is not only inconvenient, it’s grossly irresponsible and left us feeling stranded and ignored. However, the most horrifying part of this ordeal occurred when my 14-year-old grandson found methamphetamine inside the RV. The drugs were discovered in a cabinet above the stove—a space I had not accessed myself, as I physically couldn’t reach it. I was absolutely horrified. As a grandmother and caretaker to young children, I was shaken to the core. We had unknowingly transported illegal narcotics across multiple state lines, and my family—including my grandchildren—were exposed to a highly dangerous and potentially lethal substance. When I contacted, you, the owner to inform you casually suggested I bring it to the police. I had already flushed the drugs down the toilet at our campground out of fear for my grandchildren’s safety. I am absolutely appalled that something so serious was met with such a dismissive response. What if one of my grandbabies had touched it? Or worse—what if they had ingested it? I hate to even imagine the outcome. This was a catastrophic failure in ensuring renter and passenger safety. This experience has caused lasting emotional distress to my family, especially knowing how easily tragedy could have struck. We put our trust in Outdoorsy and you, to provide a safe and reliable RV for our travels, and that trust was entirely broken.I am demanding a full refund for this rental and expect that immediate disciplinary action be taken. Furthermore, I urge Outdoorsy to re-evaluate your inspection protocols and safety measures to prevent another family from enduring something like this. This was not a minor inconvenience—it was the worst travel experience of my life and a direct threat to the health and safety of my family. I would also like to add that the license plates on the rv were EXPIRED! Something that would have cost me a ticket in the very least.Sincerely,
Lisa Hamilton

Laura’s answer
I’m truly sorry you're distressed. That said, many claims made are reactive and distorted.1. At pickup, you said you wouldn’t need the generator. When confused about power, I offered to walk you through it using the adapter I provided. You declined.
2. I connected you to Warren at RVMedic and even offered to cover costs if anything happened. You said the RV “hooked up beautifully.” No further action was taken on your part.
3. When the check-engine came on 1500 miles on your trip (which happens to machines), you said it drove fine. I suggested a diagnostic. You declined.
4. You reported an unknown substance found 6 days into your trip. I don't know what it was, if it was left behind by a prior renter, or if someone at your KOA brought it into the RV and then blamed me when caught. I do know I called the authorities twice, but you all flushed it, preventing them from being able to act. You’ve now twisted this into something cruel and personal, and that’s deeply unfair.Laura
