Check out Mile High Campground in Cherokee, NC which is about an hour from Asheville. Mile High Campground was established in 1998 by Glen J. Bradley, Jr., an enrolled member of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians. They have a variety of sites, many with gorgeous mountain views and if you're lucky you might see the residential Elk roaming the property!
