Misc toolsRecommendationsThere are limitless outdoor recreation opportunities surrounding Boise! The Boise National Forest is a land of steep mountains, fast rivers and dense forests making it a recreation destination any season of the year. From biking and hiking through lush green mountains and rolling arid landscapes, to snowboarding in cooler months and swimming or kayaking in the warmer ones, the Boise National Forest is the recreational choice for over 1.5 million outdoor enthusiasts every year. There are over 70 campgrounds-- some more developed than others with a range of paved roads, pressurized water systems, and more modern restrooms. Others are more primitive with dirt or gravel roads, hand pumped water or no water. Our personal favorite place to travel in our van to is the Sawtooth National Forest, less than 3 hours from Boise. Your drive time may take longer as there are lots of beautiful stops along the way! It is an incredibly special place with stunning mountain landscapes filled with dense forests, rushing rivers, and alpine lakes. Some of the best boondocking spots we have ever found are in the Sawtooths! There are also plenty of established campgrounds with limited amenities.Other destinations to check out:
- Hot springs galore! So many hot springs along HWY 21
- Scenic Byways: Sawtooth, Payette River, Ponderosa Pine, Thousand Springs, City of Rocks Back Country Byway
- McCall, Idaho: 2 hours north of Boise, situated on the southern shore of Payette Lake, near the center of the Payette National Forest.
- Twin, Falls: 2 hours southeast of Boise, gateway to Snake River Canyon. Shoshone Falls, Box Canyon Springs, Bruneau Sand Dunes State Park, and Blue Heart Springs are just a few great opportunities. Other things to noteWe will provide instructions on how to use everything. It is super simple! Don't fret about driving it either. The Promaster is like driving an SUV, much easier than a Sprinter.Since the van is off-grid, we utilize a camp toilet! Dual lid seal with removable inner bucket where toilet bag is inserted for easy removal.Upon Return:
- The toilet must be returned clean and used toilet bags thrown out, failure to do so will add a $300 fee taken from the security deposit.
- Full tank of gas upon return. $10 per gallon will be charged otherwise.
- $100 charge if excessive deep cleaning is required.
- Stay on developed roads only (this is not a jeep).
- Renters must take out all trash, food, and wash dishes before returning the van. Failure will result in a $75 dollar fee taken from security deposit.
-Gray water must be emptied before returning.Pick up is at 3PM and return time is 12PM.

Frequently asked questions
Q.
Are there any special tricks and tips that would help with operating the RV easily?
A.
We will provide you a handy user manual that we put together to give you all of our tips!
Q.
What time is pick up and drop off?
A.
You can pick up the van at 3:00 PM and return by 12:00 PM.
Q.
What is the price for going over mileage?
A.
0.55 per mile
Q.
What is the toilet situation?
A.
Since the van is off-grid, we typically use the ancient art of relieving oneself in the wild. The classic method is to dig yourself a cathole, but we also have a camp toilet that is the same height and size as a standard toilet. You are welcome to use the camp toilet, but it must be returned clean or a $300 fee will be taken from the security deposit. We store the camp toilet under one of the bench seats and use toilet bags to contain and dispose of waste properly.
