Taylor and Patty Hayward founded Dove and Owl Cozy Camping Van Experiences because we are thrilled with this camping van community and want to make it available to others who might not want to take on the commitment of a van themselves. Might want to try something more flexible than a hotel or Bed & Breakfast. Our mission is to provide you with a comfortable, safe, and customized camping van experience to explore New England. Our style is offering an experience that is easy, promoting wellbeing and enjoyment. We enjoy the majesty of nature from the shore to mountain views and found there is no better way to promote peace than resting directly in nature. We want to share this wonderful experience with you. This camping van, named AppleCrisp, has been custom designed with comfort, high quality, and care in mind. Every aspect of van life rental has been taken into consideration to deliver a beautiful stay with ease. We like to think of our camping van as a New England Inn feel while being flexible to move to new destinations without having to repack. We make every effort to be thoughtful in our offerings from easy ready-to-go to luxurious packages. We want to provide you a service that goes beyond the van rental, being seen as helpful, trustworthy, and wise just as dove and owl represents us.

Harvest Host* (Reservations Required) - Gorgeous views of the 🏔️ mountains, nice large space for the RV parking. Well-maintained and safe environment. Restaurant, Museum, and store on the premises, hiking trails maintained - fee, cog ride $$$. Tourist area. Beautiful scenic drive to the location. Unclear if hook-up would be available or bathrooms are available after hours, no shower facility, picnic tables, or fire pit. tons to do in the area. We would plan a stay. Consider summer months would be hot on the open gravel parking lot. Harvest Host is a community offering listings of free overnight RV parking with annual membership, including wineries, breweries, farms, and attractions.**L.L. Bean Flagship Store Freeport, ME**

No reservations required. The RV lot was a couple of blocks away from the L.L. Bean Flagship Store. There were lights and it felt safe. It was quiet until about 9:00am, then other cars starting parking in the lot. Not much of a view, covered our windows during the stay. No amenities in the lot. Lots of options within walking distance. We plan to stay there again.Other things to noteWe have a strict no smoking or vaping policy. Violation of this rule will result in a forfeit of your security deposit. Under no circumstances should the vehicle be driven on off-roads, closed roads, or restricted roads. Doing so will be a breach of the Dove & Owl service rental agreement. The renter will be held responsible for any damage to the vehicle that results in misuse including driving on unpaved or unmaintained surfaces.

I rented Apple Crisp as part of my "50 New Experiences Celebrating My 50th Birthday" and it was amazing! Patty met me on time and efficiently walked me through Apple Crisp's functionality and then I was on my way to New Hampshire to attend the Adult Gymnastics Camp. Handling the vehicle was as expected: keeping in mind that the vehicle is long. The reverse camera is a wonderfully helpful feature. The only items that I needed to purchase were food and beverage; everything else was provided in Apple Crisp. I used the towels, utensils, dishes and straw handbag (so grateful for that handbag). Gas mileage was as expected and I didn't experience any mechanical issues. I figured out how to open the side windows from the outside for ventilation. Circulation throughout was great, and I even had to use the heat on one rainy evening. This experience has solidified my goal of owning a camper van in my near future!
