2019 Winnebago Minnie Drop “A home away from home”

This is my 2019 Winnebago Minnie Drop 170S and I’m excited to get to share it with you! The trailer has a queen bed and a dinette conversion to comfortably sleep 3 people, a full size dry bathroom in the rear of the camper, and one slide out to maximize interior space. There’s also a lot of storage in the camper which makes it one of my personal favorite trailers in the 20’ teardrop camper class. The trailer weighs in at light 2800lbs dry with a maximum gvwr of 3800 lbs which makes it perfect for vehicles with a 3500-4,000 lb towing capacity. Just make sure to not exceed your vehicle’s tow rating when loading it with your items. I pull it with my 3500lb tow rated Mazda CX-50 when I go out in it and it does great! Because of its size, weight ratings, and floor plan, it’s perfectly fit for a family of 3 or some friends to take on an awesome road trip adventure with a small/medium sized suv, smaller truck, or even a Wrangler (if it’s properly equipped), and still give you ample interior space and not feel like you’re compromising on personal space as you would with other smaller trailers. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out! What's includedCookware

Meet your host, Sam

Member since 2024

I’m Sam, I grew up in a family that loved camping, and even did Boy Scouts where I made it all the way to the Eagle Scout Rank. I’ve done my camping from tent camping all the way up to class A motorhomes. In April of 2024, me and one of my friends rented a small R-Pod to road trip across the country and had a blast. When I was searching for a rental, I couldn’t find what I wanted in my area and had to rent something on the way. After that trip I decided to look into the rental game and thought, “I can do that” so with that I bought myself a nice little tear drop class Winnebago to both enjoy myself and share with others who love camping but don’t want the larger trailers or busses that were offered in the area. I hope I am able to offer to you an awesome camping experience with an awesome little cozy camper so that you too can enjoy an adventure. Please feel free to reach out if you have questions as well!

Q.What flexibility is available for picking up and dropping off the RV?
A.
There is a flexible pick up and drop off time, but it will need to be discussed prior to rental pick up

Q.Are there any special tricks and tips that would help with operating the RV easily?
A.
The Minnie Drop has some neat little tricks to help preserve the battery life. The awning and Slide out have a switch that must first be turned on before they work. If it’s super windy, or the rain is really coming down, putting the awning in on any camper will prolong its life. This slide is pretty easy to use, though one side of the bottom panel currently likes to get caught at this time, so pushing it to free keeps it from breaking. You also want to sweep off slide roofs before closing them

Q.How do the electric, water and sewage hook up work while setting up at the campground?
A.
They are pretty easy. The electrical has a cable that connects to the camper, then to the 30 Amp power. The water hose plugs into the elbow adapter on the camper and then to the camp ground’s water spicket. Make sure not to clean your sewer hooks ups with your fresh water hose as that could contaminate the water that you use for cleaning and cooking. The sewer hose is stored near the front and snaps onto the sewer drain at the back then connects to a large elbow that screws into the sewer line

Q.Should I use the Camper’s shower or the campground’s bathhouse?
A.
The shower is pretty small. The camper also only has a 6 gallon water heater, so even though it does have a shower, personally I recommend using the camp ground’s shower area as they tend to have much more space and more hot water available. But if for some reason there isn’t one available, the camper shower does work, it’s just a tight fit, and you do have to practice what is called a military shower to conserve hot water.
